i think most of their fights are entertaining.....

pac/ledwaba
pac/MAB
pac/jmm
vk/lewis
vk/sanders
vk/kj

all fairly entertaining fights, with lots of power punches landed.

Why all the fuss about these fighters fans?

People like to feel better about themselves and can't comment on the fighters they know so little about so they thrash these people for being fans of their favorite fighters.

What exactly do you mean by "fuss"?

I wouldn't make a fuss about SOME of the fans if I belived they weren't motivated purely by race, or geographical pride.

If you're a Filipino, & love Pac, but have a realistic view of him & other fighters out there...I have no problem with you.
I don't care if you root like a rabid dog for him....just don't debate certain things if you're not bringing anything but your LOVE of the guy.

If we're talking "dream fights" , & you say Pac would KO Azumah Nelson in 1 or 2 rds., do not expect to have anyone (besides blind folk like yourself) respect your opinion.
Expect those who know better to come hammer you with facts & informed opinions.

This very same thing applies to the Klits, Tito, Morales......anybody.

I agree about outrageous remarks like Pac KOing Nelson, Morales in a round or two but it's gotten to a point where whatever we say about Manny is regarded as being either biased or illogical just cuz I'm a filipino. I have always given reasons and valid arguments. Having followed his career, I have reasons to believe he's gonna go a long way. It just gets annoying that we're constantly dubbed as nuthuggers when we are fans of a fighter who we believe is just THAT good. That just my opinion.

The "fuss" is all about nationalistic pride. But with Pacquiao, he has this sort of Felix Trinidad appeal, where non-filipinos can appreciate his exciting style and explosive power. I noticed growing up that alot of my non-Puerto Rican friends were just as big Trinidad fans as the Puerto Rican people. Believe me, after watching the Pacquiao-Barrera fight, I thought the same thing about "The Baby-Faced Assassin".

See, the thing about Manny is that he can be outboxed if you survive his initial outburst in the first few rounds, and can find some sort of counter to his handspeed after that. He should have won the decision against Marquez (I think one of the judges scored thr round 10-7 for whatever reason), but I think he would lose in a rematch against JMM. I've heard that Manny doesn't exactly have an iron chin either (because of the early KO losses in his career), but I've never seen video evidence to support that claim. Anyway, like was said before, there's "fuss" about Pac-Man because he deserves it. He's a top three fighter in a tough division and takes tough fights when he doesn't really need to.

To be honest, I agree with your comment about the Klitschko brothers though. Wlad has a very good offensive skill set, but he tires easily, has a terrible chin/balance, and a lack of fundamental defensive technique. Vitali isn't a huge power puncher no matter what his KO percentage is. He "clubs" with a lot of his shots, and yes, they do have quite a bit of power. But he's not in the same class as someone like a Lewis, Tua, or Tyson .What Vitali has is more confidence in the ring, a better chin (still not great though in my opinion), slightly better defense, and better stamina. Vitali is fighting in one of the weakest Heavyweight divisions of all time, but he gets a lot of "hype" because he's A) A big, strong white guy and B)People think he's never really been "beaten". Against Byrd he quit plain and simple. The Lewis that showed up to fight him was in worse shape than the one who McCall and Rahman KO'ed. He couldn't pass that test either. Wlad has no chance of being a great champion, while Vitali still could be thanks to the lack of quality opposistion.

nice observation guys, its really true sometime nationalistic pride blinds us fans and sound like a retard, but sometimes fanatics see something more than meets the eye, and knows something about a fighter that nobody else knows.....

like for us Filipino PacFans we see something more with Manny than most of you guys see, we saw him grow and develope to the fighter that he is now, we know he is not perfect, one-dimensional to a lot of you guys, but to us PacFans we know what he is made off and how he thinks, he will come in the ring to fight with one thing on his mind to destroy or be destroyed, so we dont expect him to just win, we expect him to KO the other guy (or hopefully not be Ko'd in the process)....

All that said, my honest and unbiased opinon on the Pac-JMM II together with majority of PacFans to show we are not a bunch of retards, its either Manny by KO or JMM by decision, and we can debate on this with facts & informed opinions....

Man you guys are forgetting what fans are SUPPOSE to do. When a fighter is unbeaten in 2 weight divisions(including the one he is currently campaigning at) and dethroned a division legend, then isn't it ****ing obvious that we'd have reason to believe that he is just THAT good?!? All this whining about fans this fans that, everyone should be thankfull that we have different opinions and that we can debate about them. When the Pac-JMM threads we're burning up, that's where the debates really got interesting. So everyone stop ****ing *****ing and whining about how Pac fans are blind or Klit fans are annoying. As for me, you got something concrete to say and opinions to argue? well they are welcomed with me and I'd gladly debate for the sake of arguments.

only the outcome of Pacman-Marquez II, Pacman-Barrera II, or we get fortunate enough to see a Pacman-Morales fight will put a rest on the debate. that said, never should anyone call any fan a bunch of retards. they should look into the mirror themselves first...

It's funny when you feel that you know EVERYTHING about boxing. Makes you feel somewhat invincible huh? Well let me tell you that NO ONE knows ALL about boxing. We're here in this forum to share and learn from each other. Not all posters know everything. And I am man enough to admit I don't . We are also entitled to our own opinions. Never generalize when you post. It might just come back to you as BAD KARMA.

Why don't you read my post like an objective fan, as opposed to a rabid nutlicker ?

If you did, you'd see that the LAST thing I did was generalize.

See....some of you can't debate rationally because you're all bound up by easy-to-sting pride.

I said nothing offensive in that post, unless you are one of the goofballs I was alluding to...
If you are, check yourself before coming at me....because you are the one who has the problem.

It's the same with almost all fight fans. Our bro's across the pond love Ricky Hatton, the down under peeps love KT the mexicans love Barrera and Morales, the puerto ricans love Trinidad and most Euros love the Klits. I don't see what the big deal is. Sometimes these fans make bad judgement calls or are too biased toward their fighter. But everybody just needs to kick back and relax....it's just words on a website......people are so touchy these days..

When a fighter gets in the ring, and you know he has enough power to knock a guy out at any second, people are going to talk about them, period. The "fuss" originated, in my opinion, as much from non-Klit and non-pac man fans getting tired of hearing about them as from any over-the-top fans. I see it alot, anytime someone says something positive about their fighter, there's always some guy waiting to strike him down, and don't give me that "because that guys knows more about boxing than the guy making the nuthugger post" crap either, some of the "haters' " posts are as baised as the "nuthugger" posts, so it's all about who you like, and if they create excitement with big shots and knockouts, so much the better.
