first off i define a legendary musical act by having the ability to not only play music that's bad ass to jam too, but that's innovative and skillfull ( by containing well-written lyrics, phenominal beats, and complex- yet stylistic- guitar riffs).

download keyword "danny carry drum solo" at kazaa. that will shut up anyone not seeing the skills displayed behind the beats.

ask any guitar player who knows their **** about the cords and collaborations of adam jones and paul d'amour. my uncle's been jamming the blues since he was 13, toured with van halen back in the days as a backup guitarist, and can pick up any single riff upon hearing it and jam the muther****er 10 times better on the spot. the ONLY time i ever see him have struggles picking up riffs is when i challenge him to tool.

download the video for the live performance of "stinkfist". danny carry not only displays some of the most artistic and stylistic stage presence but hits cords that rare frontmen have.

Think what you want I listen to tool all the time on the radio and I don't like it.

tool has the uncanny ability to change styles from screaming hardcore to melodic and dreamy within a matter of seconds, while keeping the transition and overall thematics (defined as lyrical content in collaboration of vocals in collaboration with beats, rythms, and riffs) of the song's content under one smooth flowing style.
this style was introduced by The Doors, taken to another level by Pink Floyd, and has now been nearly perfected by Tool.

Tool puts me to sleep faster than one of The Jakes threads.....

all musical preferences and opinions aside, tool is talented whether you like them or not.

its like jason becker, nobody likes his music but he is the most talented guitarist i've ever seen in my life.

Seriously, guys... Tool is the pinnacle of music in my own personal genre... their style is never gonna come along again, they have cranked out some of the best music I've heard in the last ten years. When you say they suck, you're not really making a statement to me... you're just showing me how much you know about absolutely nothing. Try not to do yourselves a disservice here. Tool is great. I don't go baggin down on that jiggabooboo crap you ****s crank, gangsta this, hoe that... I mean, ****, I could sit here and rip into anything, even the **** I listen to... and I don't, because as someone who was part of that scene for a long time, you have to have that kind of genuine respect for any artist in any genre who will get out there and put their heart & expression into creating something for us to potentially enjoy... or even say sucks, KAPS.
