We spoke with Renzo Gracie about the recent Nino-Sakuraba fight and he told us the following: "They (Pride officials) told us that they were considering calling the fight a no-contest because of the clashing of heads. I told them if they wanted to make a no-contest call it should be over the Royce-Yoshida fight. That should have been the no-contest. Nino caught him with a good knee. It happens."

I dont think that this should be called a no contest, it didnt even look like there heads hit hard, I dont think it had an effect on the outcome of the fight......

Im the biggest Saku fan in the world and it hurts me to see him fight good fighters over and over when he is not in top shape but he is one of the most liked fighters out there and people want him to fight all the time and he does.

Anyway, my point. As big a fan I am of Saku, the head clash had no effect whatsoever in the fight, it was the knee to Saku's head.

They bumped heads yeah, but it couldn't of been that bad. Nino wasn't even dazzed and he had been getting pounded on all night up to that point

Pride ran Saku into the ground thats what ruined it. once he is fully healed the Japanese superhero will be forced to fight Bob Sapp probably. They took a great fighter and ruined him.

Too many injuries + too many fights with bigger, stronger guys + too little time to heal + unrealistic expectations from selfish promoters = Kazushi Sakuraba, 2003
