Back in the day when the UFC was new Tank would crush guys...does he have much of a chance these days? I believe he wouldn't...he just doesn't have a big enough mixture of skills to keep up with todays fighters. What do you guys think?

I think the same thing it's a whole different game now. Fighters are much more skilled in different aspects where as back then the fighters were only good in one dicipline. In the early days it seemed like a street fight where as now it's become an art.

tank abbott would get choked out pretty fast, or someone would kick his head off. he'd get pwned and then go win a bunch of toughman contests

Tank wouldn't be allowed in the UFC if he was new.

True those early days were exciting because it was more of a street fight. But as the sport became more and more popular fighters became more and more skilled. It eventually was going to be a natural progression that the fights became more technical as they have and it seems now if your a good wrestler your chances of winning are pretty good.

I dont care what anybody says Tank was my first favorite fighter when I started watching MMA. Remember when he Knocked out some samoan and left him with his arms out and shaking on the ground.

Tank would be allowed but just as a circus show to bring in the money.

What do you guys think?Tank's chances of victory these days would obviously be less against today's MMA. But, Tanks sheer size and tenacity may be enough to pull it off against some of the heavies today.
