living_legend 10-24-2007, 09:15 PM Because he draws in many fans, Anderson doesn’t.
i was not aware that that big piece of shit had any kind of fan base.......silva does have a fan base....most ufc fight fans respect him and know him by one name now....P4P.........
AndersonSilva 10-24-2007, 09:23 PM yeah lol that too
Liaison 10-24-2007, 09:30 PM Lol, Sylvia doesn't have a fan base, people pay to see him (hopefully) lose and Silva/Dana know this hence why he's been kept around the title picture for so long.
AndersonSilva 10-24-2007, 09:31 PM correction MMA NEWS is reporting Knockout of the Night: Anderson Silva (received $40,000) lol

While your here cheering on your mma specialist kimbo.

AndersonSilva 10-25-2007, 12:05 AM well i have no idea maybe someone can ask him on sherdog ....
FluugMacMan 10-25-2007, 12:04 PM Contracts don't get rewritten once you've get the belt, so anderson is still under his original contract that he came into the UFC with. Thus why his pay is pretty low. From my understanding, Silva has one fight left before he renews his contract. Combine that with his winning streak and him being the belt holder, his next contract will have him pulling in an easy 250k + PPV%.
As for Tim, he's still under his old contract when it was renewed when he was Champ. So understandibly, he still gets paid a heep of money. The same goes for why Chuck is still pulling in massive paydays.

Mark my words, Matt Hughes is a dick.

I completely agree.
I really hope that Serra can pull a GSP on Hughes,.... or that Randy predicts that Serra wins.
Either way I would prefer Serra to smash Hughes to give him a big serving of humble pie.
2swell k-wells 10-25-2007, 12:28 PM .....mmmmkkkkk.....
Lets talk about that sig before u cheer for Serra, shall we:p
I think ya got it backwards.

To get this straight, just because I don't care for a fighter, doesn't mean I'm going to say he's never going to beat anyone.
In the Serra vs Hughes case, stylistically Hughes has the 3rd-4th round Crucifix TKO win, simply because Hughes said he's planning on sticking to his core wrestling background. If Hughes stands with Serra, Serra has a good chance to take him out on his feet.
My hope is that Serra takes Hughes down to throw off Hughes' rhythm early, since Hughes will no doubt be looking for the shot from beginning to end.
But realistically, I see Serra trying to trade with Hughes as Hughes takes him down. Then Hughes will slowly grind away at him for 2-3 rounds, then finally pull the Crucifix when Serra's arms are tired from trying to get out of position and from blocking all of Hughes' punches from half-guard and guard.
I like Serra a lot, but I just don't see Hughes opening himself up for that to happen, unless Serra really got to him where Hughes wants to trade for a while.
2swell k-wells 10-25-2007, 01:21 PM so who u going for?
FluugMacMan 10-25-2007, 01:33 PM so who u going for?
I want Serra to win, but if Hughes keeps a cool head, that wont happen.
I believe Hughes will win.

I honestly don't see Serra taking Hughes down, at least not keeping him there. Serra has plenty of tools, but take downs against a wrestler of Hughes' calibor is not one of them. Wrestlers live and die by takedowns, and they are not taken down without a fight. I remember durring Wanderlei Silva-Hendo 2, Hendo was getting the better of Wand. on the feet, and one of the announcers was like "Wand. is a Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu Blackbealt. Why doesn't he put Hendo on his back?" Honestly, that was one of the most retarded comments I have ever heard from an announcer. I don't care what color your bealt is, there is very little chance that you will take down a 2 time olympian like Dan Henderson in such a situation, unless you too are a top notch wrestler. Note, Page took Hendo down, but Page's wrestling is pretty damn good, and more importantly, he had Hendo on his heels.
pesticid 10-26-2007, 10:12 AM I think Serra is a one trick pony on the big stage and it's very probable that he gets pumelled next.
