Kimbo under the training or Bas Rutten has surpassed street fighting, Kimbo is now a skilled MMA fighter, he can do take downs, he can make you tap, he can stand up and exchange with you and he can kick a little suttin suttin now.. with more time and experience Kimbo can work his way into becoming a beast, Bas Rutten knows his shit so if he training Kimbo I look forward to see what he does with him, I think Kimbo will do fine but you guys gotta remember he's a being built into a MMA fighter so your expectations of him cn't be too high, he HAS to do all that hard balls shit to support his "bad ass" image, he fought his street fights and now he's becoming a professional at it, I don't see nothing wrong with Kimbo, I CAN say about him that I have seen him fight a REAL fight straight up bare knuckle which not a lot of these guys do, Kimbo got heart and all the physical tools to do great in MMA.. 100

In my opinion, this signing of Lesnar is a ploy for the Zuffa guys to get more of the WWF fans to start following UFC.

Personally, I still don't understand all the hating on Lesnar. The dude's an NCAA champion wrestler. Dude went 106-5 in college. There've been soooo many wrestlers who've made the jump to MMA after successful amateur wrestling carreers. Sure he brings a lot of publicity, which is good for the UFC no doubt but he is by no means at all the first amateur wrestler of such pedagree to make the jump straight to the UFC.

Tank is actually probably the most accomplished among MMA streetfighters as he nearly tasted UFC gold on 2 occasions, UFC 6 and the Ultimate Ultimate, though the sport has evolved so much that its not really fair to measure these accomplishments by today's standards. By contrast, the list of wrestlers who've accomplished notable success in MMA is very long. Wrestlers have proven time and time again to be well suited to this form of combat. Some guys, like Mark Coleman, remained one dimensional, essentially rellying on wrestling alone, throughout their carreers, yet achieved significant success nonetheless by simply being so good at what they do (I honestly don't believe anybody can stop a Coleman takedown). Other's have shown a true ability to evolve and diversify their game, for instance Dan Henderson, easily among the very most accomplished wrestlers in the sport (only Matt Lindland, with his silver medal, comes to mind as a guy who may be slightly ahead) has become a devastating and feared striker.

Kimbo is a big strong guy with legitimate power, but he has not been tested at all. While he may have good potential, it is simply wayy to earlyto tell if he will be a force in MMA and I would not consider him to be by any means a safe investment at this point. Thats probably why showtime is moving him so slow. I honestly think he would stand a very slim chance against a Frank Mir at this stage as he almost certainly lacks the tools to deal with a good submissions guy. While wrestlers are vulnerable to submissions, it takes far less work for a wrestler to aquire a submissions ame as they already have the ability to get/defend takedowns, control a grounded opponent and move well on the mat. Its more a question of making the necessary adjustments.

He could be an exciting guy to watch in due time, but it is simply too soon to tell. We still need to see how he does against a good technical striker and a guy with a ground game.
