African American, Dr. Stephen C. Ayers posted the bail for Mychal Bell, one of the Jena six. A perfect stranger to the Bell family, Ayers felt it was unjust and improper to hold the teen in an adult jail. Mychal is one of the six black teens accused of beating a white classmate at Jena High school. Of the six Mychal was the only one to remain imprisoned until Ayers posted $11,000 dollars to have him released. He says "I felt the kid needed to be back with his mamma". Wow talk about a Noble Deed.
