View Full Version : G-MAN vs. TITO
Gerald in my view would have crushed Tito. He basically fought a version of Trinidad in Julian Jackson. Granted Jackson chin was not what Tito's is, but Jackson was a more explosive puncher than felix(I know felix is a great puncher but the hawk had power that was out of this world). Gerald took a lot of shots from Jackson in their first fight and shrugged them off scoring one of the best ko's you will ever see! He would have stalked Tito, shrugged off some of his power shots and kayoed him, no doubt. I know there are a lot of Tito lovers out there, what does everyone think?
i love tito, but i've never seen the g-man ever fight before. i've heard crazy things about julian jackson as well. i gotta get some tapes and **** from these two fools
If you are to get one tape get the first fight between McClellan and Jackson, I believe it was the ringko of the year in 93(I maybe wrong on the year). Also check out Julian's ko of Terry Norris, it was awesome!

Give me your e-mail in a PM and I'll send you some Gerald McClellan fights.
McClellan vs Julian Jackson
McClellan vs Jon Mugabi
I think this would be an all time great shootout. I can see both guys getting knocked down more than once and getting back up to keep whooping eachothers asses. I think Tito would stop him late in an all time great fight.
good question .
i m a big fan of the g man , but i would go with tito in that one.
jackson had the hell of a punch , but i didnt trohw combos the way tito does. and as you said , tito chin is not as suspect as jackson 's.
the gman was a big middleweight ,but kind of one dimensional .
i see tito by UD , after some shaky moments. but maybe GMAN could have bully him and stop him late.
Jose you are right!
This would have been an all time great shootout. I can't think of many more mythical matchups in which I would rather see. I don't know about Gerald going down but I would bet my mortgage that Tito would.
mic573 10-21-2004, 04:58 PM Yeah this would of been a great fight that I could see either one winning. Both would of went at each other and wouldn't have to go far to find the other.

thanks esse!!
dansweeney 10-21-2004, 06:11 PM G-man ko's tito in the 3rd, no way he could take the firestorm of punches that gerald could throw, also gerald was a big middleweight, too strong for tito
Sir_Jose 10-21-2004, 08:08 PM thanks esse!!
I sent em both
ghostbear 10-21-2004, 08:47 PM Tito is awesome but I say G-Man kos him. Mugabi hit just as hard or harder than Tito and G-Man knocked him out. McClellan was a big strong middleweight. Too strong for Tito.

McClellan KO Jackson once right?
JOM'S 10-22-2004, 03:16 AM I dont know the G-Man but if he KOd Julian Jackson one of the heaviest hitters p4p of all time, then he is something and I won't bet my money against him.....
Gerald KO'd Jackson twice.
McClellan v. Jackson 1 ended via 5th round ko.
McClellan v. Jackson 2 ended via 1st round ko.
The consensus is right in my opinion Gerald is way too strong for Tito, and if most people think that how good of a middleweight is tito? Or maybe the better question is not to question Tito but too say how great of a middleweight was G-man.
jabsRstiff 10-22-2004, 01:01 PM I don't believe Trinidad could hurt Mcclellan. If Jackson couldn't drop him, Tito wouldn't budge him.
McClellan would catch Tito at some point, & take him out.
McClellan was more like a lt.heavy than a middle in terms of power, size, & strength.
His chin & artillery would have had him pretty much marching through Tito.
I say this, as a huge Tito fan.
deuce_drop 10-22-2004, 06:57 PM i think that McClellan and Jackson would both ko Tito. both those guys were the most devistating punchers in and around their divisions. all they had to do is get a clean hit once and it would be over. with one shot the would have a guy hurt and both could were great at finishing a guy. both are in my top five, as far as favorite boxers. i grew up watching both and when they fought each other i didn't know what to think, other than it's gonna end quick either way. and McClellan won both.
Tito has gone down to the canvas alot in his career, all flash knock down (except in the hopkins ko), it would have been another story if he got hit by either one of these guys. i think that Tito would have been shot after fighting McClellan, kind of like Reid or Vargas after fighting Tito. these guys were bigger, and had more natural power, Tito's still fighting smaller guys. but now we will never know!
wmute 10-22-2004, 10:36 PM I don't really care for both fighters
bbut I'll go with...
The G-man
bigger (really bigger)
more powerful (almost unprecedented power at at 160)
more chin (the only time he got stopped was bcos of rabbit punching and an incapable ref)
at that time of his career g-man was almost unbeatable (by the rules of boxing). A great ring-wise fighter with a great chin could have done it. Hopkins?
After seeing RJJ KOed twice I would not bet my money on him against McClellan, cos this guy's power was just incredible... watch his fights (and I still think Jones is possibly the best fighter of the last 20 years)
