submission_guy 04-07-2003, 12:09 AM about your weight, but i lift half as much :(
The Jake 04-10-2003, 08:13 AM Currently standing at 6'2" (about 188cm?), weigh about 108kg (237lbs).
Age: 24
Maxes:
Bench: 345lbs (as of today!) x 2 (partials... I could do them properly but I had a mediocre day)
Squat: 396lbs x 5
Deadlift: 396lbs x 2
- The Jake
Age:25
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 198
Bench: 245x1
Squat:?
Deadlift:?
I usually lift alone so I don't make out very often, in fact I never have for squat or deadlift. I plan on lifting much more regularly in the coming months and I will post updated max's as soon as possible.
my squat just went up 10 lbs, wooo. My grip=****, i gotta work on that cause i can deadlift more than i am now but my grip doesn't allow it.
The Jake 04-10-2003, 06:46 PM I can post a few good grip exercises... I'll start a thread soon.
Made a big difference in my deadlifts.
- The Jake
im starting to do farmer stances to help my grip. I could easily, imo, deadlift 340-350 if my grip was better.

Farmer walks, overhand burns, forearms curls and reverse forearm curls. Thats routine forearm work out for me.
Overhand burns are neat. Basically load up a bar and with an overhand grip try and hold it as long as you can without dropping it. Use an alternate (over/underhand grip) if you must. Either way the exercise is just to hold it as long as you can.
Using this technique I can hold up to about 5 plates a side (485lbs) and I've found that this is the best trick I've discovered to increasing my deadlifts.

rtbrouwer 04-12-2003, 10:08 AM I am 170lbs my bench is aprox 200lbs squat about 240-260 (havent maxed in a while). I used to squat 285 but I don't think I can still make that. My deadlift is about 310.
Magic Man 04-13-2003, 03:03 AM nice nice nice stats people :)
rtbrouwer 04-21-2003, 03:54 AM Magic, you are a very strong mofo PBP!
Stain 04-21-2003, 10:45 AM weight: 183 lbs
Max bench is approx 285 but i'm not positive. i did 275 for 2 reps the other day
squats I can't max out because i'm a ***** and my knees are ****ed up so i have to do these lightly
deadlifts same as squats
I'm currently on a 7 week bench program to gain chest size and gain some LBS on my bench. Hopefully I'll be pushing 315 when I'm done. I just started it.
Should you should able to do 315, prolly 325-330, if you just started now.
DOGGx0 04-21-2003, 06:20 PM Age: 22
Height: 5'4
Bodyweight: 70kg/ 155lbs. (normally 170lbs.)
Bench: 220lb for 4 reps, 3 sets
Squat: 350 for 4 reps, 3 sets
Deadlift: 412 for 2 reps, 2 sets
take note: i have not lifted in a while. a long while i would prolly struggle with what i was up to the last time i lifted consistantly which was about 9 months ago. maybe i should give it a whirl again. :)
The Jake 04-21-2003, 09:11 PM Respectable stats Dogg... especially on the deadlift and squat (you deadlift more than I do I think...).
- The Jake
DOGGx0 04-22-2003, 02:41 PM thank you, Jake. I am sure my stats are lower as of that now. That was a while ago, also the last time i lifted at all. When I started going all out on BJJ, I noticed that I could not move and manuever into and from certain positions because i was getting so swollen. i was getting so big that i could'nt move as fast or even in certain directions as i can now.
i was thinking about starting to lift again here and there just to keep a little bulk.... but not too much. if i was a boxer or something.... maybe. But i need to be everywhere... i just cant afford to be slow or to be suffocated because i can't move to a certain direction or because my opponent is making it difficult to perform these actions due to swollenism.
