yeh, first day I was there I was getting it drilled into me that Para's were the best and all other regiments were craphats and if they tried to spk to us we either ignore them or tell them to **** off, and then came the beasting, guess it wasn't for me but it was an experience and I'm not sorry that i tried it

The Para's aren't all that either, I knew better soldiers in the Artillery than some I knew in the Para's.

With hindsight I wish that you had gone into another arm first then moved on, the Para's is gung ho and I think that if I had joined at 16 I wouldn't have liked it. As it was I found my feet first.

yeh I do think it was too big a step for me considering I have no background that would prepare me for army life never mind life as a para recruit
