I wear white canvas skate shoes - never been on a skateboard, just like the look. Have a pair of dvs and a pair of Etnies to wear with my khaki Dickies, my white tee and my collared Polo-like shirts when I go out - Ecko, Rocka, Le Tigre, etc.

I skated when I was younger, buy always wore black or brown shoes when I skated. Now I wear white skate shoes, for mostly the same reasons as you, and I can't find more comfortable shoes than skate shoes...
