simple question. Are you supposed to take a days rest after training on a heavy bag? I know with weight training, you're supposed to give your muscles rest and time to heal. well, i just started on a heavy bag the other day, and all my muscles were sore, guess i never used them really! do i need to rest between days? or can i go on the heavy bag every day?

If your muscles are really sore than give it a rest. Eventually your muscles will get used to it and the pain will be gone. But boxers usually train on the heavy bag every day

I never rest them, but if you're new then its a great idea to rest them for a day.

Boxing training is all about building your work load up dont start out killing yourself each day if you need a break take a day off the heavy bag. After training for awhile youll learn to listen to your body.

Well if its ure first time rest up a little but after a while u get used to doing it everyday. I do 5 rounds of heavy bag mon-sat along with my other routine but that took me a sum time to be able to do alot without hurtin as much anymore. So just train everyday in an intensity you can withstand and slowly make it a higher intensity with time.
