Why did Liddell and Shogun get more and the were the ones to lose?
RUSTYBOXER 09-25-2007, 05:47 PM because they got paid off lol jk
2swell k-wells 09-25-2007, 05:50 PM lol good call. Chuck because Im guessing he is still the poster boy and they just wasted money on shogun.
robot_monkey 09-25-2007, 06:04 PM They get paid big bucks because they bring in the audience. Being an athlete is not simply a paid by performance job. It also reflects on past performance and notoriety.

500k for the biggest name in mma is kind of sad, but 14k for co headlining a ppv is pretty sad.

yes it is sad that they get such a low amount compared to other sports athletes, but chuck isnt the biggest name in mma, maybe close in the ufc. Him and Couture are pretty close together.

They are close but Chuck was flying high before his loss to Jackson. Regardless these guys are getting robbed.

yeah, i agree, 14k to jardine is ****. and 500 to chuck is alot but what robotmonkey said is true, he is bringing in the audience
FluugMacMan 09-25-2007, 10:09 PM The base pay is understandable. Jardine is still under the TUF base pay contract, and I believe that was either forest's last fight under his current contract, or it was his first fight under his new contract. Whatever the case, when forest and jardine renew, they are looking at some major paycheck increases.
... Oh crap, jardine's fight with liddell was ACTUALLY the last fight on his TUF contract, he's definitely getting a good base pay boost at renewal.
BTW peoples, just cause you have a expensive opponent doesn't mean that you contract is voided and you're given a big fat paycheck instead. Contracts are there for a reason.
Palma 09-26-2007, 03:01 PM $14,000 for Jardine is sad....................................What the **** am I talking about, I don't make $14,000 for 15 minutes of work.
