I just read an article about Clonaid - apparently the first cloning company in the world, started by that weird religious guy called Rael.
They have published photos of what they claim to be the third cloned baby, but quite honestly, the photographic evidence is about as sound a statement as me posting a picture of a ferrari and saying that is my second car that i use on weekends.
But, nevertheless it got me thinking, what do you think about the issue of human cloning? Are you for or against it?
Certainly here are moral implications which seem unholy (what is unholy? Can you define it?), but if you look past it, I personally think that cloning certainly has many benefits, one of which is that perhaps it is the most tangible key to the door of the fountain of youth and eternal life. Is it really so bad to take advantage of something that we as a human race has sought so hard to find?
Sure it is unnatural, and perhaps god, if he exists, never meant for us to live more than one lifetime - but how many things on this earth is "unholy" if viewed in this light? I'm sure as **** certain if god is unpleased about cloning, which promotes life, he sure as heck aint happy about the murders, the mayhem and environmental ass raping we are giving to this planet.
So what really is stopping us? Is this the new millenium's version of the "Church burning people at the stake for claiming the world is round"? It is simply that the human race, the propagation of it, the survival of the human race is being held back by archaic laws?
Remeber the Incans, their culture was ****ed over because of their belief in the ability to read the will of the gods in the stars - could the human race be ****ed by our belief that this is wrong?
