You don't want to be a professional world champ? AintGottaClue 02-09-2005, 11:34 AM want to be a middle weight :( other then that destroy james toney and john ruiz course they be retired before i get a shot ******* ducking me already Atwa_66 02-09-2005, 11:40 AM To fight in Madison Square Garden against another good fighter one day, or to just be a household name, Never going to happen probably, But I can dream spinksjinx 02-09-2005, 11:48 AM You don't want to be a professional world champ? Absolutely not, I am to career orientated in what I am going to school for. Their would never be finacial stability for me if I did go on to fight and was actually decent due to my incredibly low weight. I like the physical aspect of boxing and like to be tested upon pressure and this is the sport to be in to do it. It's not about the money or being a professional, I am comfortable for doing it an amateur level. That is where the true heart is in my book, fighting for nothing. :D ophqui 02-09-2005, 11:58 AM to go pro would be nice, i dont think i take it seriously enough to be a champion, but going pros not out of reach vB Martin 02-09-2005, 11:58 AM to be champ ?............mines it to be da hardest 2 hand puncher who eva lived To eat Lennox Lewis's children AintGottaClue 02-09-2005, 12:49 PM vb why does yr pic of pac show what brand of socks he wears? Super_Lightweight 02-09-2005, 12:50 PM My goal is to at least win one more damn fight at this point. Overall, my goal is just to be the best that I can possibly be. Long-term I'd like to go pro but only if my uncle will take me. spinksjinx 02-09-2005, 12:57 PM vb why does yr pic of pac show what brand of socks he wears? After the Marquez fight Pacquaio gave the excuse couldnt fight, because his socks were irritating him.... AintGottaClue 02-09-2005, 01:11 PM shoulda used fruit of the loom scap 02-09-2005, 01:16 PM My dream is to be a club fighter like my boy Spider Rico...I would love to show the world that my chin is average...maybe I can take a few shots...maybe I get hit hard and get woozy...man all of that too me would be spectacular! AintGottaClue 02-09-2005, 03:03 PM isnt he the guy from rocky 1 in the opening scene? scap 02-09-2005, 05:10 PM isnt he the guy from rocky 1 in the opening scene? Yup and he was one of the classiest club fighters ever as well...think about it he gave Rock won hell of a fight and busted him up pretty bad in the process...Rock holds wins over Apollo Creed, Ivan Drago, Clubber Lang and a street fight win against Tommy. Spider's promoter should be shot, he had a guy with talent and he let it slip away! marvelous_TG 02-09-2005, 05:34 PM Going pro and becomming world champion, 100% sure, that's what i want. I know it's very difficult but as long as it is not immposible im sure that if i want it bad enough, i can get it. And that's my goal. Floydmayweather 02-09-2005, 05:49 PM I want to be a state champion and top in nationals. I dont think about being pro much but if i ever got a shot i would go with it. PessimisticPug 02-10-2005, 10:30 PM to anyone thinking about becoming a pro fighter I say this just as Greg Rice, one of my trainers used to say. Stay in school. Fighting in the amatuers is fun. If you happen to win a state title than good, if you win a national then you might consider turning pro. There are guys out there that only had a handfull of amatuer fights and went on to do good things in the professionals but it is rare. More times than not they end up just becoming the opponent, a punching bag for $1500. James Toney and I fought out of the same amatuer club and then later the same pro stable, he might have had 10 amatuer fights that i know of. It is possible to do good but you must consider the risks of professional boxing. Its not what you might gain but more of what you might lose. Ones mental capacity is ones world. In the amatuers that world stays for the most part intact. 10-12 oz amatuer gloves hurt but dont do much damage. In the pros you will be warring with highly trained fighters with 6-8oz gloves and no head gear. You are given only one mind to live this life with, consider that before considering becoming a professional........Rockin' buff_mike10 02-10-2005, 11:05 PM To become undefeated undisputed MiddleWeight Champion of the World. I don't want to be a super start, just champion of the World. Slipx 02-10-2005, 11:48 PM good luck man..there are some tough middleweights.. xrhythmxnxbluesx 02-11-2005, 01:41 AM to become the undisputed champ in my division... and best pound 4 pound... jedihillis 02-11-2005, 01:47 AM My goal is to be the biggest Pud that ever lived and get knocked out in every fight. Then, i'll get to challenge someone awesome and suprise him with a KO punch. Yeah...that's it! adrsan84 02-11-2005, 01:51 AM I just want to be a decent boxer and get me that damn elusive six pack. julDilla 02-11-2005, 01:52 AM im just trying to get in excellent shape spinksjinx 02-11-2005, 05:23 AM to anyone thinking about becoming a pro fighter I say this just as Greg Rice, one of my trainers used to say. Arent they using 10 oz gloves in the pros, cos i remember hearing complaints about heavys only using the same 10 oz weight gloves as everyone else. spinksjinx 02-11-2005, 05:41 AM to turn pro and do well. Arent they using 10 oz gloves in the pros, cos i remember hearing complaints about heavys only using the same 10 oz weight gloves as everyone else. It varies for each division I believe. The same. I'm not really after a career. spinksjinx 02-11-2005, 08:13 AM The same. I'm not really after a career. Exactly, I just want a story tell when im older. boxernyc 02-11-2005, 09:04 AM I've been doing this just over a month and I hope to get to the Pros. But I'm not unrealistic. I'll take every step as it comes and train damn hard, six days a week. I'm training at Gleason's My immediate goal is to learn how to slip punches. After I get better at that I want to have my first amatuer fight. Hopefully by next year I can be in the Golden Gloves and win. Floydmayweather 02-11-2005, 01:51 PM One step at a time is the key. In my first fight i was in real good shape but i was frozen. I got hit with a whole lot of punches that should have missed. Then i realized he could not really hurt me and i knocked him out. Now, i am looking foward to the Golden Gloves. ;) ceboxer15 02-19-2005, 07:39 PM my goal is to be a boxer for 10 years, and during those 10 years i want to be the heavyweight champion of the world, have a hard punches that knockout just about anyone, be fast in ring, like muhammad ali, and when i retire i want to be remembered always as great boxer, like muhammad ali. Renegade 02-19-2005, 08:48 PM Exactly, I just want a story tell when im older. I am older, 54, started training 3yrs ago, and I'm just looking to test myself in an amateur match against another senior, 35 and older, novice at middleweight. FrankJack 02-19-2005, 09:06 PM I've still gotta find an official trainer and a gym that's not expensive. I've worked with a couple people but I don't have anyone to train me as my coach. My main goal is to come out of a fight with at least 1 million in my pocket after I pay the people that work with me.If not a million, 125 thous. will work.....yeah.... Eric Persson 02-19-2005, 09:39 PM I want to start with getting membership in a gym, im a bit behind, heh. |
