I have heard a lot of people saying lately that if you don't support the war your not a real american. I think that a very dangerous position to take (I know I am canadian, but for the purpose of this article forget that).
The fact that the country was based on the right to choose what you want to choose and belive what you want to belive is key. People have the right to protest, campain and try to incorage change in thier country. This is supposed to be the american way.
A lot of people forget that though. They seem to think if you aren't supporting George Bush and his war 110% your not american and you should be stood up in front of a firing squad.
My position is simple. If they are fighting the war for the reasons they say they are fighting it, I am for it. To free a country from a dictator and protect the world. However, in my life time of experience I have learned you can never really belive what the goverment tells you on any subject. There is always something left over.
However, even if they are after the oil or a puppet goverment, I do belive the gains outweigh the losses. However, I respect the opinions of others and thier right to disagree with me.
One thing I do not agree with is people disrespecting the soliders. The people fighting this war. They are fighting for us. They have the hardest job in the world, and the fact that some people call them baby killers makes me phyiscaly ill.
So, if your anti-war, thats fine. If your anti-solider......
