So what are my fellow posters feelings on this scandal? Do people think CBS should be ashamed and apologize to the Prez, or do they think its Ok to use phony docs as long as your bashing Bush?

I think CBS should have done a better job checking out the docs first. There invesigative reporting looks pretty sloppy in this case especially since it took about 5 minutes for internet bloggers to know these docs weren't the real deal. I know the secretary was interviewed by CBS and said that she didn't write the docs, that they were fake, but the info in them was true. While the info in them may be true, it was really nothing new. The real story was the fact there there were new docs that were not released about Bush's service earlier when they were requested. Its a shame phony docs were used to bring this 30 year old issue to the fore front once again in this campaign. I say no more National Guard, no more Vietman/Swift Boat.

CBS and Rather have taken a huge hit in credibility.

The problem I have is the Bush side trying to say that because the documents were false, the larger story is false.

The guy who gave cbs these memos, must be a crack pot. His own daughter said that he was lying about it. I looked at the memos on the net. They dont make sense. The things in the "report" don't sound normal at all. Why would a doctor write this **** in a medical report? Its phoney as hell.
