Boom was too tight even to throw a decent punch, much less to dodge. He looked like a high school amateur boxer up there with De leon. If he lasted three rounds by just avoiding deleon, he could have loosen up a bit and the fight would have been more exciting.

i think it would have been better if the ref hadn't saved him in that Medina fight. it could have instilled a mindset in him na susceptible ang kanyang chin. Nagtataka din nga ako at bakit sya nakipagsabayan kay Ponce, eh baliw yun.. :lol1:

anyways Boom Boom is still young and he can use this experience to learn and understand na hindi porke't malakas ang firepower mo, eh ok na... He can improve his defense pa, it's not late yet. and he can work out his neck, makakatulong yan sa pag absorb ng damage pag tinamaan sa panga.

Its not his time yet. Just look at the other top rated fighters. Glen Johnson hat at least 10 defeats before he won a world title. Look at Malinangi, he lost to Cotto before winning a title. There are also top fighters with weak chin. Look at Klitschko, been knockout before.

Bautista, even though has better boxing skills than PDL, needs to train more on his skills. Defense is one area that he needs to improve on. He needs to learn to fight on a distance.

As far as his next fight, while i like him to take at least 2 tune up fights to work on his skills, maybe he should fight another top 10 fighter, not the top 5 but #8-10 fighters. I believed Boom can beat any of this fighters and this will give a needed confidence boost to Rey.

I'm comparing their age...How young is young for them to conclude that Boom Boom was rushed...Tyson fought mostly tomato cans leading up to his first big fight...if only Boom Boom had bobbed and weaved like Tyson, I think he has great chance but then again hindsight is always 20/20...
