View Full Version : Love at first site...Fact or fallacy?
seldomTap 03-17-2003, 05:04 PM Is it possible to be walking down the street one day, thumb in your ass, and BANG. It happens. You look up and there is the most unbelieveably attractive girl/guy that you have ever seen and it is all you can do not to pass out on the spot. You speak to them and realise, this is it. This is the one!
Or is it more likely that such an attraction is basically an extreme example of lust and an indication you really need to get laid
handjobs4dollars 03-17-2003, 05:05 PM No it's impossible.
Bella 03-17-2003, 05:06 PM I don't think it is impossible to fall in love with someone based on just seeing them for the first time.
I personally have to get to know an individual and at least talk to them regularly before I feel an attraction for them.
Looks are just an added bonus.
Bluecifer 03-17-2003, 05:07 PM There may be a possibility that extreme attraction, horniness and extenuating circumstances might make a man susceptible to something like that...
seldomTap 03-17-2003, 05:08 PM That is what you both say now...but have you ever seen someone out of the blue, and just known them without ever having spoken???
Nah, me neither
Bluecifer 03-17-2003, 05:13 PM No I simply concede that something like that may exist. Love can be broken down into a purely biological chemical reaction similair to eating alotta chocolate. Sometimes one's brain chemistry could be out of whack one day and you see the wrong or right person, depending upon your perception and...BAM presto your in love.
handjobs4dollars 03-17-2003, 05:16 PM you can only be attracted to somebody at first. You can't be in love with them.
seldomTap 03-17-2003, 05:16 PM But surely there is a difference between love and animal lust.
Can judgement be clouded enough so that then line between the two is undeceipherable?

No offense gman, but you sound lke a chick. Love isn't really quantifiable and everybody defines it differently. The love between husband and wife, mother and child, money and ****, are all subjective.

Yes, and that line is located in our brain chemistry.
The Jake 03-17-2003, 05:21 PM I'd like to think it is possible.
I mean Seldom that's like saying straight sex isn't possible. Just because it hasn't happened to you doesn't mean it doesn't happen at all....

handjobs4dollars 03-17-2003, 05:23 PM All I'm say is at first all your thinking is I want to **** that. Love is different.
seldomTap 03-17-2003, 05:32 PM Hmmm....interesting theories...
Jake just cause I knocked you back doesn't mean you should try and slander me here!
Love at first sight= Your really hot and I want to **** you
Piedra 03-17-2003, 05:37 PM Theres a big difference between hormones and feelings so its practically impossible.

Sorry to have to disagree with you Mr. Piedra, but there is no difference. Feelings can't even be scientifically proven to exist where hormones and chemicals that effect our behavior can. That is why Prozac makes people "feel" happy. ALL feelings are chemical reactions, i.e. adrenaline to dangerous situations, love for our mothers that care for us when we are vulnerable infants, mothers protecting their children which insure the propation of their genes, etc., etc.

Now that made me laugh. BURN!
Valerie 03-18-2003, 10:22 AM I do believe in love at first interaction (meaning first encounter <--speaking with the person, not just seeing them)
