There have been films which could be described as horror, that have stayed with me long after watching them.

Not slasher flicks, but psychological eeireness. The film becomes more than just entertainment. It causes a genuine response.

So yea, a really well made horror drama.

Horror or Comedy.

Although most of my favourite films fall under the gangster genre, theres nothing better then a decent Horror or Comedy to come home to.

Anything well done with a story to tell that is beyond superficial.

Social commentaries which I guess goes under the fodder of drama, documentary and occasionally horror. Well really, Social commentaries can pretty much go under any genre, but i prefer more more realistic commentaries so i'll go with Social commentary dramas.

My three favorite movies the last year are star Trek, Terminator, District Nine, and the last Die Hard so I guess action movies are my favorites.
