Damn that was brutal, that right hand I think could've put down most boxers throughout history. What are some recent devastating KO's that come to mind?
I'm not talking about 50 years back, I'm talking about 80's and on. Please share and post vid if you can.

yup, sure is.

lewis didn't show heart by getting up from it.

lewis-rahman II was obviously my favorite. one of the most powerfull right hands i've seen in a heavyweight fight.

Honestly, it wasn't that great of a knock-out punch.. Lewis wasn't guarding or prepping himself to take ANY blows from the opening bell, basically. He was the heaviest of his career and had just bounced off the ropes. You add low hands, being way [way, way] heavier than he should've been, and bouncing off the ropes at full-force and you get exactly what happened in S. Africa. A KO. And a career that continues to this day because of it..

Thread shoulda' been "Basically The Defining Moment of Lewis' Career" or maybe.. "Why Lewis Was Basically A More Accomplished Riddick Bowe."

Actually, he was not justy more accomplished, but way more disciplined as well. Blame the Rahman loss on lack of competition as much as lack of focus/desire..

But, seriously, whenever they play it on ESPN2/classic I ALWAYS think of The Great White Hope.. 'cept the KO came after the bout in the movie..

Sure it was a good, but Lewis did himself no favours as he was obviously unprepared. Also, i'd say that the right hand that Lewis landed in the rematch was better.

even this thread has been hijacked by Lewis/Rahman I, I will add to that debate. Lewis obviously overlooked Rahman and didn't respect him, he also landed a few good shots and Hasim and didnt think it would take long for him to stop The Rock. So he lacksidasily walked along the ropes and was tagged when he was dropping his hands, he didn't bounce off the ropes into the punch, he just wasn't paying attention. OKay, now to why I wanted to post, the second fight and the brutal KO from a lovely one-two by Lewis was soo much more gratifying (And I was rooting for Rahman) due to how much of a prick Rahman was leading up to the fight, how Rahman turned down millions and tried to avoid the fight only to make a couple million, and how he poetically fell sprawled out with Don King's emblem encasing his noggin.

ok.. someone post the video, he was bouncing off the ropes, that is why he got knocked out as badly as he was. It was probably a KO punch (regardless) but I bet he is at least semi-standing by the 8 count if he isn't bouncing his ballooned ass off the ropes.

Derrick Jefferson's Ko over Maurice Harris - that was brutal. Entertaining fight aswell.

Ike Ibeabuchi's 1st knockdown of Chris Byrd was a thunderous shot.
