View Full Version : Rampage vs. Silva is going to make HISTORY....
Purity 03-17-2003, 12:23 PM as being one of, if not, THE most explosive fight in mma history.
these 2 are animals and i have been waiting for this fight with more anticipation than tito & ken. you've got a psychotic stand up vs. a pshychotic ground and pounder BOTH of whom have severe hatred for eachother and BOTH who have yet to fail at dishing out a single fight that wasn't entertaining as hell!!!
i am gonna go with rampage on this one. i don't think he'll take it easily though. he's not gonna wanna trade with vanderlei for too long and he'll eventually take him down. we should see a similar victory as with randalman.
except that i see silva's defense giving him a tougher time in both the takedowns and ground n' pound. silva's always had good takedown defense and has been pretty successful at defending and then making his opponent play his standup game with him (much similar to chuck btw).
quinton will struggle with it but not for long. silva isn't used to going the long distance with an opponent like jackson and tito is gonna make sure that jackson's cardio is off the ****in hook.
no promises but we'll try to score you guys an interview w/ jackson.
VulgarTheClown 03-17-2003, 12:45 PM Rampage no doubt.
Tha Playa 03-17-2003, 12:56 PM I'm going with Silva. I think Jackson tries to as you say"play" Silva's stand-up game and it gets him knocked out. That plus the fact that Silva has excellent take down defense will result in a victory for Vanderlei. i'm very excited about this fight too btw.
Why did Wanderlei get in the ring after the Rampage-Monster fight? Was it something Rampage said after the fight or was he just coming into get on the mic and hype up the fight or what? Anybody know anything about what the 2 guys had 2 say? For me, this fight will be 100 times bigger than Tito- Shamrock. These are 2 of my favorite fighters, I can't even pick who I want to win.
lightweight 03-17-2003, 01:58 PM Man, this fight will be amazing. I'll have to go with Silva because he's trained in all the facets of the fight game much longer then rampage has. He's definitly has skills and experience over rampage, but rampage is a monster. He needs to stay outside and pick him apart.
This is a fight where everyone wins, it will be a strong candidate for fight of the year.

After rampage defeated Randleman he picked up the mic, pointed at Silva, and told him that he wanted him. Silva got in the ring shove him out the way and told him in ENGLISH: it's my belt, MY belt!! All hell broke loose after that.
Some entertaining WWF type of promo.
Lei Tong 03-17-2003, 02:35 PM Watch Jackson vs. Abidi & Beatsman, and tell me Silva will knock him out.
Piedra 03-17-2003, 03:53 PM I agree with you lei-tong for me right now the only one capable to defeat Wanderlei da Silva is Ricardo Arona. Maybe Im wrong but I dont think quinton can do it.
Bluecifer 03-17-2003, 04:02 PM I do believe that while Arona may not be the most exciting LH out there, he can beat Silva, but I picked against Rampage vs. Randleman and Igor so am reluctant to do it again. he really impressd in his last fight.

Rock Dog 03-18-2003, 09:57 PM Man Tony, ever think of being a fight manager? You know how to sensationalize.Although i think Jackson, Randleman and Arona can beat Silva, the man's no push over. I think it'll be an exciting match, btu for some reason I don't think Rampage will have that big a problem w/ Silva. Somethign about it makes me think that way. Still if Silva where to get a rematch I'd probably root for Silva. It's just right now I really think Rampage is the **** and I wanna back him. Also, I think Rampage needs to beware of Arona, he very well may take the belt.
