Or just guys wanking in a jar?

Do you think that artificial insenmination is a good thing?

It gives childless couples the chance to be parents, which they more than likely wouldn't have had otherwise. Which is a good thing for those couples would you not agree?

But does it give Drs an overly God like power that could prove dangerous in the future??

Forgive the pun, but when it comes to what sperm sample you get, its a shot in the dark.

If someone wants to have a child that badly, let them try

I have this view on the subject.

If a sperm bank wants to pay me money for my spooge so a couple who can't have kids can be happy, then I'm all for it. I mean, how else can a full able bodied male make 50 bucks for pulling himself while looking at ****o? ****, that sounds like a sweet deal to me.

LMAO @ Squeeze and his spooge!

But seriously, do we as a culture give Drs too much power over reproduction and ultimately the gene pool by doing this?

I think we do give doctors and the like a TON of power. Maybe too much power. But, there's gotta be someone to oversee that sorta stuff. I mean, a couple wouldn't take a sperm sample from just anybody. Regardless of the power involved, someone's gotta do it.

I think it's a fine idea. I do, however, think doctors do have a ****-load of power. I don't think it's too much in this situation though.
Think of the couples that try over and over again to concieve and they cannot. I think artificial insemination is a great idea for those particular couples who want children, but are unable.
If my future husband and myself were wanting to have children and for some reason we could not get pregnant, then I would like to think that there is hope in this world for us to someday have a child, regardless.

I have mixed feelings about it.

I think it's good in a way, but I think ppl are putting way to much trust in a doc. There is way to much of a chance that something could go wrong and your "dream" of a child could come out all wrong.

What if the docs tools are even a little bit dirty or bacteria gets in the sample. Your dream is shatered, and the child has something wrong with it. You have to ask your self why you went through all that and you now have achild that is not perfect, will you still love it, will you love it but all ways wonder why it happened to you will you love it if it can't talk or walk. You may love it but you'll always wish it were "normal".....

I could go on but I won't...

I just don't think it's a good idea ever to play god. I say if god ment you to have a child you will. By whatever means that is well it's up to that higher power.....

You're right too, Arju.
This is such a ****ed up world sometimes.

My friend had a daughter last year through artificial insemination because he was shooting blanks.

Everything went fine and he has a healthy kid.

I think the visiting aliens should be barred from performing them though.

I would happily donate my sperm to women but Arju wouldn't let me I don't think HAHAHAHAHA

No, seriously though, this is a sensitive issue, particular for Arju.

Do I believe we should do it? No, unless it's related to my cloning response.

Would I donate? Yes.
1) I get paid
2) I am a big believer in survival of the fittest and that it is man's biological imperative to spread his genes as far and as wide as possible. I don't mean that as an excuse to go out and **** per se, but it is man's need (thinking back to Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs here) to procreate.

I try to facially inseminate as many women as possible, it's my god given duty...
