eazy_mas 08-07-2007, 08:30 AM which I mean Man United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelease?
they got Erikson and the money will it be a success like Chelease or distear like Fulham?
MickyHatton 08-07-2007, 08:44 AM Not yet, they have bought but many are middle tier players and its a gamble.
I would say that things are one the up though for City so.....

the shareholders gave Erik two season to do something big.
but the weakest link between the big 4 is Arsenal right now with Henry gone, and young talent still developing.
Erik could produce the same spark as he did with Lazio, but the problem English League is much demanding phyically and harder in a long run but right now they should be concentrating have a spot in Europea big boy or only boys :D

Arsenal are not slipping. They didn't get better in the transfer market, but the young talen they have on that team is still leagues better than anything at City.
Spurs have been building this team for years (with a few glitches), if anyone can break into a top spot they are it. They have high quality all over the field.

I dont think at this rate because Liverpool, Man United and Chelesea are getting more and more quaility squad. it a tough competition to say.
But not usally what players you have but if they cant work together. There is many cases espically the famous Rudy Guilite and Roberto Baggio that seemed very good as an individual but as a team like the coach and players he didnt seem to fit in.
the most player that i feel sorry is Rivaldo that guy had talent and Barca dutch coach ****ed him up big time as well as Ac Milan coach keeping him in the bench for most of the season

But Wenger decided a while back to invest in his kids, and he has the best kids in the world, or damn near. Buying would only screw it up

yeah but still they need someone who is vetran to helpl the develop faster like a mentor.
a team must be mixed with young talent and vetran because it will produce best of of both players.
Alex Furgeson is onthe best coach in the world because he balanced it like that that why he have a more than a 10 year of success
OptimusWolf 08-07-2007, 11:24 AM city challenge - no. not this season anyway.
A top 10 finish would be a very good start.

there already did that didnt they?
and it not there status they are more mid-table team
adamk1304 08-07-2007, 03:48 PM They will certaintly score more goals this season, bojinov and petrov are both exceptional players, however they haven't added anything to their back line.
city will finish between 5 and 10 this season.
they aren't touching united, although our lack of a proper centre-forward is worrying. chelsea will be frustratingly up there again and liverpool will be closer this time.
1 united
2 liverpool
3 chelsea
4 arsenal
5 newcastle

Don't you see Tottenham getting closer to the top 4?
The Raging Bull 08-10-2007, 12:02 PM In a word, no.
They haven't signed any 'world class' players, which are rquired to enter the top 4.

Newcastle have added some decent players to their squad:
Claudio Cacapa
Alan Smith
David Rozenhal
Geremi
Joey Barton
Mark Viduka
Having michael Owen back to full fitness will also be a great help to them. I'm backing them to finish 5th/6th
Larry Merchant 08-10-2007, 08:39 PM Yes Man City will win the treble and Ricky Hatton will out box PBF 119-111 120-110 119-111.
Likely_Lad 08-11-2007, 06:05 AM Come on, footie is back, come on City!
eazy_mas 08-11-2007, 09:53 AM I made this thread is because City shareholder are putting pressure on Erikkson to be competitveafter two seasons or three at most.
and when you adamek told be about Alan Smith is with new castle that changes the whole thing because Alan Smith is underrated striker and people will be suprise. weird that he is player along Viduka which the played before with Leeds.
poor Leeds thet are wasted
majestiC 08-11-2007, 08:00 PM man city were quality today, elano is the best signing uve made, he was great for shatkar. theve only been together for like a week or two and dominated a very good west ham side. i expect a top 6 finish from city this year, sven is a great club manager. Im not at all impressed with Liverpool, they wont get enough goals this season i can see them dropping down the table this year.
