Last night I got kicked in the face during training when I ducked when I should have weaved. My eye closed and bled gross enough to make my GF cry when I got home. I've had shiners before, but not burst blood vessels all in the white of my eye. The part that is supposed to be white is bright bloody red. Anyone know long these burst blood vessel in the eye take to heal? I would appreciate anyone's input who has had experience with this type injury.

About 2 weeks or so. I never had one but my buddy did. I always end up with a broken nose.

And I got my foot ****ed up by heel hook last night. No cardio training this weekend.

2 weeks! That sucks. Broken noses suck too, I've had mine broken twice but not in MMA. This is probably the worst lick I've taken in MMA.

My freind had an asma attacvk and face planted into the floor bursting the blood vessels in both eyes it was the coolest **** EVER!

It's gross and I feel self-conscious at work, it's also really upsetting to my GF. I feel like **** today.

Thanks vulgar, I guess I should try to take your advice. She(my GF) just doesn't understand why I like MMA and I have a suit type job where I feel that people will be judgeing me. And unlike Ed Norton in Fight Club, I like my profession and coming in with a bloody shiner makes me feel unprofessional and self conscious. I also couldn't sleep, so I'm probably feeling a bit more pissy than usual. It's been a long week.

when yo uget home from work just relax man.

Stress can pop blood vessels to and it could likely slow the healing.

just cool out, hit the hot tub if you got access, relax get a massage, ask your g/f for one.

lie on the couch watch some TV and cuddle wit hthe lady folk. relaxation helps alot.

on top of that she is likely to think your being super attentive and sweet and your likely to get soe oral action.


all that and all you had to do was relax.

now i wonder why i don't relax more.

no ****...my eye was ****ed up like that for about a week when i got kicked in the face by a horse...but it wasn't my whole eye...

A horse? Damn! The shiner part isn't what bugs me so much as the broken blood vessels in my eye. That just kind of grosses me out. It kept me up all night too so I'm tired.

the blood vessels were kind busted...but I had a big "u" shaped bruise underneath my eye...like on my cheekbone...it wasn't too bad...my eye felt like it was on fire for a couple hours after it happened...ice helps...been to an opthamologist?

No. I don't think it's bad enough to go the Doc, just enough to make me feel self conscious at work and continuously ache. My bruise is already very dark and puffy, it's bruising has even spread a little to my other eye, but the part that sucks is the bright bloody redness that has replaced what used to be the white part of my eyeball.

well...of course you know that cold helps with swelling...but you may be past that point...dude, i'd recommend a doctor...just to make sure your ****'s gonna go back the right way...are you havin' any problems seeing...or does it just look jacked? my eye was like that on the outside white part. from afar it looked like i had a lazy eye and was always checkin' something out to my left!

It's almost swelled shut, but I can see out of it, my visions not blurry or anything. I'll totally ice it again when I get off work today.

I don't have a digital cam yet. I'll work on the not getting kicked in the face part. I avoided a bunch of other shots but never even saw the kick that caught me. I know I'll be alright, just today I feel like a beat up hooker...

I remember when I was 10 I got the lens of my eye crack when a tennis ball hit me. I had to wear a eye patch for a week.

It wasn't a priate eyepatch. It's was a peice of white sheet that was taped to me face.

I wish I had a cool pirate eyepatch...

i remember the crappiest eye thing that ever happened to me was when some punk threw sand at my face and i got a ****load in the eye...i had to go to the doctor. he put some **** in my eye so it would glow underneath a black light (it burned like acid!), then propped my eyelids open with some contraption, turned off the lights, flipped on the black light, and proceeded to pick every piece of sand off my eye ball with ****ing q-tips!!! it sucked 'cause i could see the q-tip comin' and wanted to blink but couldn't...

Thw worst eye thing I ever saw was at a rugby game in high school. When one guy went for a low tackle. And he got kick in the face in trying. Cut across the eye. Blood all over the field. We sent him a card the next week.
