Why would you even think of doing that anyway? Been watching too much Rocky again?

You can get salmonella poisoning, which can potentially kill you. Or just make you sick as a dog.

u have a chance of getting salmonella but i hear that those cage free omega 3 eggs are the safest ones if ur gonna drink em, u can usually tell if an egg is bad once u crack it, and i heard (not 100% sure) that chances of salmonella from an egg are much much much lower than getting it from years ago. i drink 2 eggs once every blue moon jus for the mental part of it... hope i dont die.....

There is nothing wrong with drinking raw eggs. For an egg to have salmonella it must be layed by a sick hen. So buying high quality cage free organic eggs is a must. A study by the U.S. Department of Agriculture in 2002 (Risk Analysis April 2002 22(2):203-18) showed that of the 69 billion eggs produced annually, only 2.3 million of them are contaminated with salmonella - equivalent to just one in every 30,000 eggs - thus showing that salmonella infection is quite rarely induced by eggs.

There is a lot of debate on whether the protein is more bioavailable in cooked and uncooked eggs. I do not know. I have mixed plenty of raw eggs in protein shakes, and have had them raw or way undercooked in many recipes.

I have never just eaten one raw though.... how does it taste?

There are plenty of other safer alternatives. Why risk salmonella?

It tastes like slime. Also, it makes you want to burp, but you can't, and another thing, don't drink eggs and THEN run.

wouldnt say its dangerous but its very stupid, the proteins biological value off raw eggs is just half what it is in cooked ones.

so cook your eggs boy

anyone know about the bioavailability of protein in raw vs. cooked? also does cooking effect the bioavailability of the nutrients and aminos in the yoke?

It is a terrible thing dudeman, but it is true, and utterly disgusting.... Luke Cummo (MMA fighter) is a big proponent of it.

It is something beyond belief, but is becoming widespread amongst the new aged medicine community.

ugh....

That is wierd. I don't think there ever be a situation where I needed to drink my pee or atleast I hope not. As for the eggs, I've never drank them but I've been told that they have the same protien cooked or uncooked. One day I will try drinking some and let y'all know.

If you can drink a raw egg without gagging or throwing up, you have issues and traits of a female.. :P

Save yourself the blank taste, and spend $3.29 on some muscle milk after working out.

drinking eggs is extremely energetic, although it tastes bad. what i do sometimes is take out all the yolk and only put the red stuff in a cup, then add as much sugar as you want in it and mix it together, it tastes real good and gives you plenty of energy. it's also healthy and doesn't give you any diseases, i've been drinking those for as long as i can remember because they taste so good and i haven't gotten sick from them.

Eating Raw Eggs
Today, some unbroken fresh shell eggs may contain the bacteria Salmonella enteritidis that can cause foodborne illness. While the number of eggs affected is small, there have been scattered outbreaks in the past few years.

Researchers say that if present, salmonella bacteria are usually in the yolk or yellow of the egg but they cannot rule out entirely the bacteria being present in the egg white. No individual should eat raw or undercooked egg yolks or whites or products containing them.

Individuals with health problems, the very young, the elderly, and pregnant and nursing women are particularly susceptible to Salmonella enteriditis infection. Chronic illnesses also weaken the immune system making individuals vulnerable to foodborne illnesses.

Do not eat raw eggs including ""health-food" milk shakes containing raw eggs, Ceasar salad, Hollandaise sauce, and any other foods like homemade mayonnaise, ice cream or eggnog where the eggs are not cooked.
