Controversial New York rapper, DMX, will be making his return to music with his 7th studio album, The Resurrection Of Hip Hop. The album, which is expected to be released towards the end of 2007, is currently being formulated as a response to Nas’s “Hip Hop Is Dead.”

“Nas is my dog, and he put out Hip Hop Is Dead—and it pretty much IS dead. But, I’m gonna resurrect it with his help and the real artists in hip hop” DMX told MindWhirld TV.

“There are so many people making records, that are not artists. They have absolutely no talent whatsoever. To the point that I’m ashamed to even be associated with them..ashamed to be in the same sort of music.” He continued.

Rumored collaborators include 50 Cent, The Game, Nas, Mary J. Blige, Swizz Beats, Eve and Bone Thugs N Harmony. While production will be handled by Swizz Beats, Scott Storch, Jonathan Rotem & The Alchemist.

“I just wanna clear up all the gray areas and let em know what real hip hop is, who the real artists are and put rap back on the map.”

Anybody else see the irony in that? But yeah sounds like a positive thing for hip hop anyway. Definently gonna support the scene and buy this album.

Somebody please tell DMX that his only purpose was to fill the void Pac left and now that everyone's over Pac, there's no reason for him to go on.

Different taste for different ppl. It takes awhile for ppl to be comfortable with it. East Coast ruled rap for over 20 years. What I tell ppl is,if you dont like it dont listen. East Coast rappers are still throwing there stuff out,it just sucks to alot of other ppl now.
