View Full Version : The Jake to quit job to continue posting
seldomTap 03-12-2003, 07:57 PM That is right...his fascist team leader has just told him off for posting on here...
So he is doing the only thing left for him to do. He is quitting his job as of immediately so he can return and follow his true love in life...
I take my hat off to you Jake...wherever you are

That's true, my head hurts from working whilst I post.
seldomTap 03-12-2003, 08:05 PM If I didn't work, I would have 8000 by now

And that would look bloody awesome on a C.V.
seldomTap 03-12-2003, 08:16 PM I know...I would so hire someone who could claim 8000 posts!
The Jake 03-12-2003, 11:07 PM It goes a lot beyond posting here
Basically they're telling me what I can do, what I can wear, etc.
To elaborate further, policies which have been in place for over the 2 years+ I have been here (and longer) are being changed, without written confirmation,
Furthermore these new 'changes' seem to be only applied to me.
I took two weeks off. I come back I find they're talking about all sorts of ****.
Apart from micromanaging the **** out of us, they're gonna be putting spyware and ****, etc. into the PCs.
After a clash with supervisor last week (first day back after Arju left) I had nothing but probs with them.
So I had a meeting with them last Friday hoping to sort it out.
Then today happened. I was 30 seconds off my break, not yet ready to take a call as I was finishing the last sips of my protein drink.
I mean the ****ing drink is in my hand when I get 'the lecture'. I was in such a rage, I was literally lost for words (me, lost for words???).
I contemplated just punching the monitor to punctuate my argument but I decided against it.
I just got an email from my recruitment agency asking how long I'm gonna stay here for ... hahaha irony. I just said I'm not going to stay here past today I reckon and I'd let them know officially tomorrow.

Been there, done that. It doesn't make much of a difference, believe me.
- The Jake
The Jake 03-13-2003, 12:06 AM I've been told I'm allowed to post during my breaks (like now) but apparently not when I'm working.
Like it's natural for people to work 7.5 hrs back to back without faltering.
This is just ****ing ludicrous. This is a goddamn callcentre, not Auschwitz.

hello yes. I am Magic Man (21) Jewish-Polish.
Auschwitz is not so bad a place, when I was living there with my family in poland until the Nazi come along and take we all away. It was not so bad until we got off the train there - even though the train was not so good, like too crowded and people pissing and pooing everywhere, it was not so bad.

The Jake 03-13-2003, 06:04 AM I come home for some good news. Best news I've heard in awhile.
I got my paperwork back from the US Immigration dept.
I am due to head to Sydney in a couple of weeks for the interview.
Once I pass the final interview stage, I am ready to go!
However, this changes my situation, now that my life in America is one step close to fruition.
Financially, unless I have another job RIGHT AWAY, I can't afford financially to piss this off. Nor will I jeopardise my life with Arju. If it was just me, I would. But I got someone else to think about. Arju is telling me to just up and quit but.... faark...
Last job Astro and I were at, we torched out ****ing bridges and badly. I worked so hard here not to have that happen. And to have two *******s who somehow snuck their way into the company in my absence and put me in this position.... ****!
DAMN them for putting me in this position. **** ARSE!!!!
I feel like I'm back in high school again. I didn't take **** then and I won't take **** now.
My options, as far as I can see, are:
1) Address my concerns with HR and try to resolve this mess
- the downside to that is that:
i) I could make myself a target and perceived as a troublemaker
ii) My superiors could try to just get rid of me
2) Quit.
In order for 1) to occur, management pretty much needs to change it's entire management style or they need to sack the managers. Which I don't see happening.
I see it as them harassing all the staff in my department and I'm pretty sure I can get a few of them onside to agree with me. IF I can do that, then I think that I can present a strong enough case that they are harassing staff and bring the managements down a notch or ten.
2) I hate considering but if I don't want to be perceived as a troublemaker, is probably the quickest and best way out.
I'm gonna talk over this some more with my parents atm but this is pretty much the situation I'm faced with.

The Jake 03-13-2003, 06:06 AM As for Astroboy, well, don't encourage me mate!! I nearly did it today.

Magic Man 03-13-2003, 06:50 AM don't worry jake, I'm sure things will work out mate.
The Jake 03-13-2003, 06:55 AM Ok... I've got the battle strategy worked out.
Times like this I'm glad my dad comes from a senior IT management background. Get lots of good advice on how they think and approach issues and new ideas on how to deal with people.
I'm gonna be a busy bee over the next few days planning this out... IF this goes well, then they will back the **** off and leave me be and the helpdesk will be a lot better off.
If not, let's just say the *potential* legal ramifications could be big... then again I might just punch them in the face if they irritate me.
*shrug*
Will see. Keep you all informed....
