View Full Version : Sugar Coated Chuck Liddell
renren40 07-28-2007, 03:04 PM Liddell will fight mixed martial arts veteran Keith Jardine in the main event of UFC 76, scheduled for Sept. 22.
Is this fight for real? Jardine is the most used stepping stone in the UFC for light heavyweights. When was the last time this guy even won?
Dana White set this up and he's hooking Chuck up with an easy match.
Dudeman1056 07-28-2007, 03:05 PM haha then you see chuck get knocked out...that'd be funny.
MetalVomit 07-28-2007, 03:12 PM Didnt Jardine recently beat someone? ****. I'm pretty sure he won his most recent fight.
the giant one 07-28-2007, 03:40 PM jardine lost to houston alexander recently. before that he had rung up a few victories in a row in the UFC including beating Forrest Griffin
the giant one 07-28-2007, 03:41 PM btw this is a tougher match for Chuck than when he was fed Vernon White
renren40 07-28-2007, 03:43 PM btw this is a tougher match for Chuck than when he was fed Vernon White
Jardine has a chin...but he's got no answers for Chuck's punching..
When was the last time this guy even won?
He's gone 4-2 in his UFC career if I'm not mistaken. One of his losses came to Bonnar in a fight I gave Jardine the victory in, his last fight was also a loss against Houston something.
Spontaneous 07-28-2007, 04:52 PM Yeah Jardine beat Bonnar imo.
Anyways Jardine isn't a stepping stone. Only this time, but who else can Chuck face? You guys wouldn't make good UFC presidents or matchmakers imo.
DeltaSigChi4 07-28-2007, 05:39 PM Liddell should fight Henderson.
Rampage should fight Shogun.
I'd put those fights on the same card, along with Pulver/Olaf.

Shogun has to build a fan base with the American public before he takes the title from Page. That is why Shogun is going to fight Forrest, as from all things I've heard, Shogun fights the winner of Henderson/Page. It very well could be Liddell though as he deserves a shot with a victory since he held the belt for such a long period of time.
$ LegenD $ 07-28-2007, 08:46 PM jardine is no joke...he tko'd forrest and like stated above should of got the nod againts bonnar.....interesting fight.....

How little you know...This wont be as easy as u think it is. Jardine is nowhere to be the stepping stone for top fighters. He beat 2 of the TU finale fighters, we all know he beat Bonnar and too bad he had to underestimate Houston Alexander and get ktfo. Thier styles are pretty similar, they match up perfectly together and there will be fireworks.
UFC dropped the ball on this one, Jardine is coming off a brutal lost and same with Chuck but if Chuck wins he doesnt prove anything, he didnt beat a top 10 fighter which is a shame.
UFC should of gave Vera a shot at Liddell, it would be war and Vera has been calling out Liddell ever since he joined the UFC.
Spontaneous 07-29-2007, 03:07 PM Vera now wants Fedor. ^
American_Ninja 07-29-2007, 04:51 PM After such a devastating loss, I wouldn't expect Chuck to jump right back in with top contenders. He needs a confidence booster. If he loses to Jardine, then he should probably call it a day.

Call it a day after a loss? Anything can happen in MMA and you can get caught at any moment. Losing by an ass whooping and losing because you got caught are two different things.
Atnan 07-29-2007, 05:21 PM people need to stop *****ing and complaing about chucks upcomming fight aganist jardine....both are top fighters in THE current UFC 205`ers...honestly they both lost in thier last fights ( and before that chuck was #1 and jardine was #3-4 and lined up for a title shot)....jardine isnt taylor made for chuck which is kinda rare for him- and he knows how to strike- he punches FAST and Striaght....combined = huge upset.....jardine rocked forrest and finished him fast.... he also rocked alexander, houston in the first 10 seconds of their fight ( btw he clearly didnt take that fight seriously)
if not jardine then who???? a unknown pride fighter which none of the fans will have any clue of who he is - also joe silva/dana white know they stand a HUGE chance of beating chuck **** NO.....tito ortiz? for a 3rd time, **** NO.....forrest griffin? considering he lost to jardine in brutal fashion **** NO....babalu? you cant be serious, **** NO....the only logical choice is jardine, just shut the **** up and watch the fight guys- stop trying to do joe SilVa`s job
p.s. i also agree with the fact that rampage/shogun and chuck/wand-hendo....but ufc aint pride- their all about image and promoting UFC...not MMA

I just dont think Chuck has aged as well as Randy has.
He parties a lot. Rumor has it that he was out drinking
the night before the Rampage fight.

rumor has it chuck got his ass kicked the first fight.....enuff of the excuses.....theirs no reason for him to go for a looping body shot from the outside - punch drunk or not- its just not going to work
number6 07-29-2007, 05:54 PM Jardine has good skills but i do see this as a fight that is set up to put Liddell back on winning ways against a respectable fighter (who shouldn't come close to beating him) , before he puts chuck back in the mix with the big boys from pride in the big money fights.
Vera now wants Fedor. ^Yeah he also said he wants CC and AA. I know he's a good fighter but CC and Fedor would KO him badly, AA I dont know he's seemed to lose his explosiveness and Vera could beat him.

i heard chuck parties before every fight, that **** ages u fast. anyway, the dean of mean is no joke, i give him a chance in this fight, although liddell should take it, but it won't be easy. if jardine can punch inside chuck's looping punches he can put the iceman on his back again
