I don't think we are necissarily losing our culture. First you have to work out what our culture is....

I reckon English,Scottish, Welsh and N.Irish people are very ****ing proud to be British... very nationalistic on the whole. I don't reckon its been stolen or lost by anyone.

The old cultures of my town are the same, nothing much has changed. But ... perhaps in areas like Bradford... there is no more British culture, because its all changed.

The reason why gun crime has become a 'black' thing more recently is because more black people are running round shooting boxers in the face, girls on new years eve and female cops infront of everyone. I don't believe British media to be like that. Infact, it's not a black thing now. It took days for papers to point out the kids who shot that boxer were black. The papers cared more about the smoking ban and bashing the youth...

I really hope Britian doesn't fall into the same liberal pit of **** America has, where everyone else is to blame and the government is behind everything from AIDs to traces of peanut in food.

Maybe there are people who confuse war against terror with war against muslims, but i would like to hear more about muslim communities going out of their way to fiercly condemn these attacks, and then its the medias job to accurately report this so we know that Britian is united aginst terrorism.

I understand your analogy with peodophilia and "white culture" to some extent cos most sex offenders do appear to be white, you could even say the same of serial killers, according to crime profilers. But the main difference here is that you won't ever hear someone who isn't a peodophile condone or support it.

Unfortunately i have heard comments from young muslims on phone ins etc condoning or sympathising with the attacks both in this country and the US, and there have been several antii war demonstrations in this country supporting the 9/11 attacks.

I'm not a pick up driving ****-kicker and i'm certain the overwhelming majority of muslims in this counrty BELIEVE the attacks were wrong but maybe i'd like to hear more condemnation from them and then its up to the media to get hold of that and potray a more positive picture of muslims in this country.

But I agree with the sentiment - People should remember the history and heritage of this country, and the hard work done by many millions to give us the lifestyle we have today. I don't just mean soldiers in the war as is the usual, but statesmen, scientists, educationalists and every person else along the way. I'm a bit of a soft liberal myself, but I certainly believe that immigrants coming to this country should learn English, should learn about British history and manners, and while we're at it the indigenous population need to ****ing buck their ideas up n all.

I reckon there's a lot of people who don't know when st georges day is mate. In the build up to st patricks day, you see adverts in the paper, on billboards, posters in pubs etc. Then on the night they have all these promotional offers on and give away free guiness hats, great atmosphere. Don't feel that st georges gets the same attention or coverage, i always sink a few though.

the usual "mainstream" muslim groups always come out and condemn the attacks. unfortunately, these guys are never considered as "news-worthy" as the more extreme elements.

Yeah this is a good point. A group of muslims saying they are against these attacks isnt gonna make the news. The media are only interested when someone like Abu Izzadeen wants to speak in favour of the attacks.

So how come you know about the mainstream muslim groups condemning the attacks if its not being reported?
