Amonsot deformed the face of Katsidis but never put him on a canvass except in one round but it was ruled a slip. On the other hand, Katsidis floored Amonsot in the 2nd and again in the 10th, but Czar recovered and remained unscathed in 12 rounds. The two knockdowns obviously matter more for the judges than the excellent boxing of Amonsot, thus giving Katsidis the unanimous nod. Katsidis was too fast for Czar to outbox and Amonsot was too strong for Katsidis to knockout. Both fighters showed good heart but poor defense. It was more entertaining than the Bhop-Wright fight though. But the best fight was the Larios-Linares, where Larios was surprisingly outboxed, outpunched, and outlasted by Linares. Linares punished Larios for 8 rounds before KO'ing him in the 9th. Linares was a revelation and should give the 126 & 130 pounders a run for their money!

I read in the morning paper that Amonsot was diagnosed with a small clot in the brain. It is not clear yet if it was damaging enough to retire him at a very young stage of his career. I hope not...
