Ok thanks for fixing the link. Also I think anyone who enters this thread and states that it should be banned.....should be instantly banned from this site along with their Ip address so they can never post here again. Ever.

it must be a slow news day.

So long as men have balls, there will always be a place for cagefighting and boxing.

This isn't a stupid thread, or question. Just because we all love physical full contact sports ... doesn't necessarily mean that others will not try and ban it as barbaric, instead of naturally satisfying.

My arguments are thus for keeping cage fighting legal:

1. Cage fighting is no more dangerous than many other sports, and definately has less fatalities than sports such as horse racing, motor sports... even, i suspect boxing.

2. If you banned cage fighting now, after it has achieved such a revival, it will only go underground - which in the end, will be more dangerous than it is now.

3. All participants fight through there own free will, and nobody is co-erced into this... what more, if banned, there is a possibilty of fighters, trainers, coaches, agents...all losing there livelyhoods.

erm...thats all for now.

mickeyb reson are good for keeping it alive but there are also so good resons for it to be banned

1. it a glorified street fight
2. someone is like to get kill in the cage within the next ten years
3.its also boring to watch
4. the group that control mma need to be upgreaded to the standard of boxing board of controls
5.figher can come out with 2 broken arms ect .. if they don't tap
6. the gloves they wear don't offer much protction

there some good reasons it should be banned but theres also so good resaon why it should keep going

New poll. Should msagrain be banned? Boring my ass, glorified street fight my nuts. "the group that control mma need to be upgreaded to the standard of boxing board of controls" boxing can suck my D**k.
I'd write more about your 6 reasons but I've run out of my special areas.

what are you like Bob Arums girlfriend, MMA is awesome if you know what your looking at, your probably one of the people booing at the Sherk and Franca fight.MMA has had no deaths, can not say the same for boxing, fighters have a greater level of respect for each other, the best fight the best and a loss does not hurt your rep like in boxing.I would rather spend $50 on a UFC card than a boxing PPV, take the last UFC versus the Oscar/Mayweather snoozefest no comparison.MMA is giving the fans their monies worth.Black belts in Brazillian jui jitsu, state champion wrestlers, Mauy Thai, Kings of Pancrease, Abu Dabi champions do not street fight !!!! if you can't see the difference take some time to watch it, it is awesome.

there some good reasons it should be banned but theres also so good resaon why it should keep going

1. It has very little in common with a street fight actually.
2. Nobody has died in a any of the big cards (UFC, Pride, K1-Heros, DEEP, Pancrase, etc) or even the lesser known cards (King Of the Cage, Rage In the Cage, ICON, EliteFC, etc) The same can not be said about boxing, so should it be banned?
3. **** off, you don't understand grappling
4. This point must be a joke. Mma doesn't rely strictly on politics and purse size. To make mma sound like it's lagging behind "boxing's standards" is a terrible terrible argument.
5. Are you serious? 2 broken arms? Don't be a douchebag, there is no hold that will break both of a fighters arms at the same time.
6. Thats the ultimate reason why it's much safer then boxing. You get your head beat on for 10 rounds with 12oz gloves, that results in massive tramua to the brain. You fight 3 rds with 5 oz gloves and the result is much different. Mma fights don't last as long as boxing matches even if they are 5 5 min rds. and it lasts the distance. Even if that happens, not as much damage will be inflicted by the gloves cause just going out there and wildly striking leaves yourself open to be taken down.

Stick to the boxing fourm, you don't know mma and your jaded perspective makes it impossible for you to learn.

MMA is how old? Boxing has been around for over 100 years which is why there has been deaths.

If MMA was around for 100 or 200 there still wouldnt be any deaths.
MMA being a young sport aint the reason their aint any deaths, the reason is that its a much safer sport than boxing.
Go spar and get brain damage u boxing moron.:bryce:

my points axactly.... if its boring, dont involve yourself with the sport.

there is plenty of boxing you idiot, chuck liddel, pedro rizzo, tank abbot, mark kerr and many more, cant deny these fighters of there punch ko count.

the reason you see it as a 'glorified streetfight' is beacause of the rules being more 'open' comparing to boxing. this dosent meen its a streetfight, the competitors use the rules to an advantage yes, but as any human with 2 brain cells to rub together can clearly see that the rules still contain and dis-allow certain things and that theres a referee to controll the bout, AND..... the fighters are still knowledged and aware of the rules themselves, dosent happen to even give the impression that it is a sport, not a ****ing 'glorified streetfight'.

On the undercard of the Hopkins Wright fight both Larios and Amonsot were taken to the hospital and both have bleeding on the brain.I'm not for either sport to be banned but boxing is by far the most damaging. In MMA if you take a blow to the head you have numerous escape routes ( take down, shoot, clinch), in boxing you either go down or take more blows to the head. Also as soon as you are dropped it is over in MMA, no standing 8 count, no three knockdown rule. The whole idea behind boxing is to inflict blows to your opponents head until he goes down !!!!!
