I am thinking about investing in a heavy bag. I dont have any boxing training, and I dont plan on taking lessons or anything, but I"m considering getting a heavy bag just as a fun way to stay in shape. I dont know anything about it yet though, and I'm wondering what weight I would want to consider getting.
It seems to me like I should just get the heaviest one, as that would be a better workout. But again, I know nothing about it. Anyone have any advice?

so, whats the reasoning behind it? Why do people get lighter or heavier bags, what are the benefits to each?

heavier bags develop more punching power, lighter bags move around more, so they make u move ur feet more and go after the bag like it was an opponent instead of jus standin there waling away at it. i like to hit heavy ones and light ones, but if u aint trainin to fight, 100 pounds will be good for u.

I never get bored of the heavybag. I stay on it most of the time while training. How it can be boring is beyond me.

Big bag is the best!!!
According to Everlast, you should get a bag that is half of your weight, but Rocky Marciano had a custom Heavybag that weighed 300 pounds, depends what you want more, speed or power
