I have a pair of bag gloves and I know there are different from sparring gloves, but is it more effective to you sparring gloves when working on the heavy bag?

Also with the weight of the gloves what’s a good weight for a beginner? And during actual sparring matches do both boxers have to wear the same weight gloves?

i use the everlast training gloves 16 ounces. i use them for bagwork, sparring, pads, whatever. if u got the money sure u can buy bag gloves and sparring gloves, but thats only to prevent wear and tear on the more valuable sparring gloves.

usually when sparring, the boxers wear the same weighted gloves, 16, 18, or even 20s sometimes, cuz no one is trying to get seriously hurt.
