That's the name of my dog we had to put to sleep today. She was twelve, and the first dog I've had that I saw from puppy 'til the end. We really had no choice, she had no sense of balance and started going to the bathroom in the house. It's really sad, considering she was the nicest dog, very loyal and never bit anyone. It's going to be weird, since ever since I've been nine years old she's been there going skitzo-****ing nuts in happiness whenever anyone in the family came home. I know dogs can't think like we do, but I hope on some level she thought I was as good to her as she was to us. It boggles my mind why we take on other living things as pets when they only live a fraction of our lifespan.

I loved that dog. This sucks.

Awww ****, Ryan. I'm sorry. That really sucks.
It's so easy to get attached to pets. I don't understand why we do it either. My puppy had a seizure last weekend and it scared the **** out of me. I didn't know what to do or how to handle it. In those few minutes, I was really scared for her. I didn't think it would ever stop.
Again, I'm sorry to hear about your baby.

Bella, nice av, you're hot. Anyways, my dog used to have seizures whenever he was startled, ie, him being in a deep sleep and some one accidentally slams a door to hard, or other things like that. So we noticed that he startled easy and made sure we didn;t scare him. So he'd rety much hhave one every 6 months, but we'd coax him out of it whn it happened. Then when he got older, even though they rarely happened, it put him through so much pain and they started lasting longer and longer. So my dad checked out if he might be epileptic, we got some some pills, and he had only had one seizure in the last 5 years since we've been giving him the pills for epilepsy. It really helped, you might want to look into it.

Thank you for the compliment Luke.
She had the seizure on a Sunday, so the vet wasn't open at the time, but I did call one of them. We took her to see them on Monday though and they ran a blood test and all that. Everything came back normal. They said she may be epileptic however, but they just said to keep a close eye on her and if it happens again to let them know. I've done some reading on it, so I basically know what's going on. She's been doing great since then though. The only problem I'm having is her sleeping in her bed. She's pretty spoiled and when she was really small, she would cry all night so I ended up sticking her in the bed with me, so I had just started breaking her from that. Well, she was doing well for a week, had the seizure and I think she's been scared ever since because it happened while she was asleep in her bed. It totally freaked me out, as I'm sure it did her. All is well now, so I'm happy about that. She could have another one tomorrow, a month from now, or never again. That's the only part that freaks me out, but she's doing fine now, so I'm going to take it day by day.

I'm sorry Ryan...I know how hard it can be.

My dog, Jake, was the only constant thing in my life for the past 11 years and when he died last Fall, it just left a big hole. He outlasted boyfriends and jobs and moved across the country with me. I don't know if I will ever have that connection again with another dog.

Know it sucks putting a pet to sleep. I had to bury my dog because the vet didn't have a way to dispose of the animals that were put to sleep. So, here I am digging a hole in the back yard while my dog is laying down next to me...just watching...loyal as ever. Then, I had to put her to sleep, wrap her in a blanket, drive her home, and bury her...suckiest day of my life. But, she was 13...it was time. I'd rather do that than have her be in pain. *sniff, sniff*

I'm sorry to hear about your dog Ry. I'm a K9 officer with the airforce and I been with dogs for years even before enlisting. I know what it's like though to lose your friend or to me my partner. I lost one of my dogs while serving in the philipines, you'll always miss him/her but in time you'll be ok. My deepest condolences.

I agree with Bella.

The single worst thing I have had to do was dig the hole for my old 14 year old labrador. Still gets me now.
