VERSATILE2K9 07-09-2007, 09:53 PM I use 20's for bag work, 16's for sparring. I'm a Light Heavy. why do you use 20s for bag work. SpeedKillz 07-09-2007, 11:40 PM I cant believe 40 ozs.haha http://store.titleboxing.com/power-weighted-super-bag-gloves.html i shit u not friends. check em out they are the shit!! fraidycat 07-10-2007, 02:25 AM why do you use 20s for bag work. I use 'em for bag work and drills. 1.) I don't hurt my hands. 2.) When I put on the 16 's to spar, my handspeed goes up, not down. :boxing: Edit: My boxing gym is run like a martial arts class, with a heinous 60-minute conditioning and drills workout before open sparring. The last thing I would want to do is put on heavier gloves at the end of that first hour. VERSATILE2K9 07-10-2007, 02:46 AM I use 'em for bag work and drills. 1.) I don't hurt my hands. 2.) But I understand where you're coming from. fraidycat 07-10-2007, 02:59 AM Oh ok. I was thinking about buying 20oz gloves for sparring. I wear 18oz now. But I understand where you're coming from. If I was just hitting a bag in my house or if I worked out at a gym that's more traditional, I might go with lighter gloves for the bag work. BTW, if you hit someone with 20 oz. (thinking of the Ringside Gel Shock in particular) gloves in sparring, it's like dropping a piano on them. Especially the way you hit. The funny thing is my hands are really really small and it doesnt even come close to fitting in the 18s I wear. There is a big space in the gloves then my hand. But boy 18s are damn heavy, feels like I punch alot alot slower in the ring. fraidycat 07-10-2007, 03:08 AM The funny thing is my hands are really really small and it doesnt even come close to fitting in the 18s I wear. There is a big space in the gloves then my hand.
