LukeDothSucketh 03-07-2003, 03:59 PM No I'm not talking about Iraq. I'm talking about me whoring the OT forum. As fun as it is, I have to expand my mind and actually really start following MMA. I love watching it, and I've read up on many of the fighting styles, but I cannot say that I follow it as closely as hockey or football when they're on. So in a bit expect me to actually contribute to the MMA section of this forum.
Curly Howard 03-07-2003, 04:01 PM YAY...BUT its almost the playoffs are you sure about the hockey thing?
LukeDothSucketh 03-07-2003, 04:02 PM I already know that the Canucks are going to win. All will fall before the power of Bertuzi and Naslund.
handjobs4dollars 03-07-2003, 04:03 PM Lets go Toronto, lets go. Lets go Toronto, lets go.
Curly Howard 03-07-2003, 04:05 PM HA HA HA HA HA as soon as Pronger comes back we will own the west
HockeyFighter 03-07-2003, 04:07 PM HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That is laughable Curly. Brodeur will lead the Devils to another Cup.
handjobs4dollars 03-07-2003, 04:09 PM I can't belive how well ottawa is doing.
Curly Howard 03-07-2003, 04:10 PM It's our year!!!!! all we need is a goalie.....defense......and scoring and we will win it all!!!!!!!!
HockeyFighter 03-07-2003, 04:13 PM Jackman is your #2 dman Curly...you can't expect to go far with that. Maybe Salvador can step up and score..HAHAHAHAHA!
Curly Howard 03-07-2003, 04:16 PM yeah I know....that Damn GM Larry Pleau and his"I think the team looks good" would it kill him to sign a goalie and 1 defensman?
Curly Howard 03-07-2003, 04:17 PM and playing McInnis 30+ minutes a game is about as dumb as you can get.
handjobs4dollars 03-07-2003, 04:18 PM Sundin, Mogilny, Belfour and Corson we will rule this years playoffs.
Curly Howard 03-07-2003, 04:21 PM BEEEELLLLLLFORRRRRR .......BEEEELLLLLLFORRRRRR .........BEEEELLLLLLFORRRRRR
HockeyFighter 03-07-2003, 04:28 PM I don't think scoring is an issue for the Blues. The top scorers are pretty much doing what they do. Demitra has 76 points. That's about right for him. MacInnis has 57. That's above average for him but with Pronger out it needs to be. Weight has a point a game. Stillman is doing what was expected. Mellanby is always a presence. Tkachuk has 28 goals and 50 points in 50 games. Bogunieck is having a good season. Just really need to get Pronger back and get a goaltender of some kind. Jackman and Khavanov can't fill in for Pronger and a rookie shouldn't be a #2 dman. The goaltending is the major problem. Blues have none. Johnson and Brathwaite are both below the league average in goals against average and save percentage and have only 4 shutouts combined.
HockeyFighter 03-07-2003, 04:32 PM Toronto:
You only got 2 point getters. Mogilny with 71 and Sundin with 57. After that comes Antropov with only 15 goals and 39 points. Toronto's real only strong point is depth. 8 guys with atleast 10 goals and 11 with 20 or more points. The leafs are just riding a hot goalie. I don't think they have what it takes.
Money 03-07-2003, 04:35 PM Hockey and Canada Suck, and not necessarily in that order!
Curly Howard 03-07-2003, 04:38 PM They still swear that Johnson is the "future" but the guy has zero natural ability. It's not like goaltending is a new problem. We haven't had a true #1 guy sense Cujo left except for Furr but they knew he wouldn't last very long. The system they play works great with the low shot percentage but when you loose a game 4-3 and you only allowed 18 shots its not too hard to figure out who to point at. Curtis Sanford looks good but you can't expect a rookie to take you all the way.
HockeyFighter 03-07-2003, 04:48 PM Turek was a #1 goalie and getting rid of him was a mistake. Yes he can slump at times but he is a hell of a lot better goalie then Johnson will ever be. Turek got booed in St.Louis for not winning a cup on a team that was still putting the peices together. He had a GAA of 2.05 in the playoffs his last year there. What the **** is wrong with that? That is a damn good average if you ask me. It's still a mystery how that blues did so well in the regular season that year. Something like 117 points. Didn't have the right scorers then blamed the goalie. Now the scorers are there but goaltending is nowhere to be found.
LukeDothSucketh 03-07-2003, 04:49 PM Toronto has let me down in the play-offs every year of my life. That's why I converted to Canuck-ism this year, my number 2 team has become number one.
handjobs4dollars 03-07-2003, 04:51 PM If any canadian team wins it. It will be Ottawa or Toronto.

Hockey reminds me of #1 and canada reminds me of number 2
handjobs4dollars 03-07-2003, 04:53 PM Money we all know you were the kid with a doctors note to get out of gym class. Just becuase you can't play hockey doesn't mean that it isn't one of the greatest sports ever.
HockeyFighter 03-07-2003, 04:53 PM Canucks = better than Leafs because they have more balanced scoring and don't rely on their goalie to win 4 out of 5 games. Vancouver also has a better defence and is younger.
handjobs4dollars 03-07-2003, 04:55 PM You forget that Toronto is a playoff team. They turn it up in the post season and it's just a matter of time before they win it all.
LukeDothSucketh 03-07-2003, 04:57 PM Money seems like the soccer type to me... a bunch of guys running around on the field with an excuse to lift up their legs to show each other their tiny balls.
HockeyFighter 03-07-2003, 04:58 PM Toronto will get their asses handed to them this year. They don't have the defense they used to and defense is everything in the playoffs.
LukeDothSucketh 03-07-2003, 04:59 PM I agree with HockeyFighter there for sure.

It's always been like that here. When we had Joseph we had zero D. Turek was good but he was just an excuse for the playoff loss. Even if they want to keep Johnson and bring him up they could have went after a vet to help out. I thought Brathwaite would mature in to a #1 guy but I think its his confidence that keeps him down. They don't play very good in front of him.
Money 03-07-2003, 05:04 PM Hockey = a step above men's figure skating!
Money 03-07-2003, 05:05 PM I love how these Canucks can defend hockey but can't defend Canada! Bahahahahahahahahaha
