I don't think it's just that though. Against anyone else it wouldn't bother him so much because he'd be self assured enough to know that he'd win anyway, regardless of the hawk-eye decisions. It's the pressure that he's under that is causing him to look so deflated. Last year Nadal showed he had the potential to beat him at wimbledon, and this year my boy has taken it that one step further.

Federer's shot selection was much better in the last two game, getting the ball low with slice and playing the percentages. Thats the difference.

The man is just incredible, i was saying after he beat Hewitt in the US Open final a few years ago, he is the best i have ever seen (im a Sampras fan), but the last few games of this final have proved it for me beyond doubt, How he came back on break point from nadal's crosscourt forehand ill never know.

Not like the Cricket or Football where you often have tournaments where the quality throughout is nothing special (take the last world cup of each), but that just doesnt ever seen to happen with Tennis. Apart from the rain, the whole tournament has been exceptional, had some cracking matches.

I would've enjoyed the tournament more if Murray had been playing and been at his best, but you can't have everything I suppose. the sport has changed so much that you can't compare really. How would Borg have done now if he was brought up with modern equipment? How would Federer have done in Borgs day? Rod Laver and Pete Sampras still come to mind as the best two for me.

For me it would be Sampra's but I could see Federer doing well in any era because of the all round game he has. Plus he has one of the smaller racquets around so the sweet spot is tighter. Not quite the same as the old wooden racquets but you get my drift.

yeah Sampras used the smaller heavier racquests too. I think there was better competition in Sampras day too. The only competition Federer has is a clay court based player.

You can say this with loads of sports though. the only reason for the lack of competition is because of how good he is. Nadal, Djokovic and Davydenko are all up there but just not as good as him, hence the lack of competition.

Not really. No one could argue that Borg or Sampras didn't have competition despite how good they were.

Djokovic has only started to shine recently so there are some good up and comers which will peak in a few years. But as of now there are few top notch grass players in their prime to challenge Federer.

Nadal is all power, he blasts opponents of the court in clay, sorry to those who like him but he is limited in skill, Murray is a good player who will soon be great, he has great touch and a good selection of shots, he just needs to calm down a little, showing passion is good but it can be overdone. In 2 years time Murray will be better than Nadal on grass and hardcourt, clay will be a different story though

Sampras imo is better than federer, Sampras had the likes of Agassi,Rafter and others to compete with. It may be that Federer is so good his fellow competitors look worse than they are but I doubt it
