I've decided I'm going to give supplements a go.
I shall shortly be training a lot. What are the main ones I should take?
Protein supplements? Recovery formulas?
All replies appreciated. Thanks.

I think basic supplements are just enough, especially for boxing.
And that is glutamine and some multivitamine(I use megaman sports).
YOu can use protein powder as well.

glutamine is nessecary for recovery and immune system.
Creatine, I am not sure about it's importance in boxing training.

glutamine should be a staple of ur supplements, and some protein powder would be good too. creatine i dont think will help u. def get a good multivitamin. ast sports science makes a great one called multi-pro 32x, as well as good glutamine. optimum nutrition also has like the best protein on the market i believe. check em out. u can go to www.dpsnutrition.com (http://www.dpsnutrition.com) thats where i get all my ****.

Yea man what everyone else is saying. Don't fall into all that dumb supplement hype though. Glutamine Whey Protein and Creatine along with a multi is a great recovery stack. In fact, you can get all of those items from walmart for a good price. The six star line offers very good creatine and protein products for under twenty bucks.

i dont classify protein as a supplement as its a food source & i use it in my meals (my brekky is oats, protein & fruit & my last meal is casein, almonds & peanut butter)
Supps can be as technical or as simple as you want to make them. Fish oil, a daily multi & creatine monohydrate (take 5g a day after you workout & dont worry the loading bull****) are all you need as basics. From there consider post-workout supplementation - BCAAs, Simple sugars (dextrose, maldextrin, waxy maize starch etc...), hydrolysed whey etc
L-Glutamine is important depending on your goals - i swear by it for immune boosting but otherwise extra l-luecine (part of the 3 BCAAs) creates a more anabolic environment if growth is your goal.
Glucosamine helps with joints but its not something you realise until you're off it.
i take Melatonin for the nights you cant sleep, anything more than 6g for me gives me a hangover though.
I also personally take tribulus as it really helps with my recovery & allergies, but i have low test due to my work, sleep & training habits but its a highly debated supp - works for me so i'll keep using it. Dont take it if you havent stopped growing.
Thats it off the top of my head... anything is pretty much bul**** & unnecessary. Remember there is no silver bullet & nothing works without hard work & solid nutrition.
