View Full Version : The fork in the road
HockeyFighter 03-06-2003, 07:15 PM There comes a moment in everyones life that there is a fork in the road. Your life can go one way or it can go another. I believe I have reached that fork in my life. Things will happen in the next week that will determine my future. One path is the path I have imagined for myself. The path I want to live. On the other is a path that is not so good. It means hardship and uncertainty. What path I my life takes is no longer in my control and that's what upsets me the most. I made a mistake and got away with it. I didn't learn my lesson and I repeated that mistake and now it is very possible it could bite me in the ass. Not only affecting my life but those I care about. I hate this waiting to know what is going to happen. I'll just say this. Mistakes in school can cost you marks, mistakes at work can cost you your job, but mistakes in life can cost you your future.
Bluecifer 03-06-2003, 07:20 PM Did you get a DUI or something?
Curly Howard 03-06-2003, 07:22 PM I don't really know what to say because I don't know the situation except that I hope everything works out for you.
It's apparent that you have learned not to repeat this mistake so hopefully the punishment isn't too severe. Good luck to you.
HockeyFighter 03-06-2003, 07:22 PM I should have learned the first time.
Bluecifer 03-06-2003, 07:30 PM Sometimes it takes more. You'll be tougher for it and will have an increased resistance to whatever made you repeat your mistake. Besides, you never know when a new fork will present itself, maybe next time will be a happier fork.
seldomTap 03-06-2003, 07:45 PM ****...
I know what you mean here. I at 26, am doing something I never envisioned I would do at 18 and inbetween have done things I never thought I would do. What I am trying to say is that we all make mistakes that effect our futures in some way, but our futures aren't always so certain. Life is a game where you roll the dice and take a chance. Sometimes you come up trumps, others you bust. Be focussed on what you want to happen in your life, but don't have tunnel vision at the same time, see the bigger picture, consider wider options. The world has a lot to offer, more than any of us are ever likely to see or know about...it is a lot bigger than what we are bought up to know, believe me
HockeyFighter 03-06-2003, 07:57 PM I certainly hope so seldom. This is life altering **** for me and right now it look like the two paths go in opposite directions.
VulgarTheClown 03-06-2003, 07:58 PM Sorry, there is a reason I edited this Ben. PM me about it

handjobs4dollars 03-06-2003, 09:11 PM Why is god toying with all are lives.
Sounds to me like your girlfriends late on her period. But, whatever it is, you can handle it Hockey. Like many have already said, we all make mistakes, some very large mistakes in my case. It is how we handle ourselves during adversity that truly shows us who we are. Nothing is never as good as it seems, and nothing is never as bad as it seem. Good luck and hope everything works out for you.
rigid 03-06-2003, 10:46 PM **** it.you always find a way to deal, and you will this time.
handjobs4dollars 03-06-2003, 10:48 PM If worst comes to worst. I'll go on the shooting spree with you.

HockeyFighter 03-06-2003, 11:25 PM No Lei Tong is cool. No killing him.
Lei Tong 03-06-2003, 11:29 PM How ironic... I remember siding with Seldom in his fight with Hockey...
THis is like "The Psychotic (And Underlyingly Gay) Real World."
seldomTap 03-06-2003, 11:35 PM Hahaha...I remember the days of the great Household MMA challenge heavyweight championship!
Lei Tong 03-06-2003, 11:40 PM So who ended up pussing out?
HockeyFighter 03-06-2003, 11:44 PM Those were the glory days

seldomTap 03-06-2003, 11:47 PM **** you all! I would have won and won royally! The logistics of the show were too immense to organise...kinda like Battleship
Lei Tong 03-06-2003, 11:49 PM Or You-Know-Who's cranium?
HockeyFighter 03-07-2003, 12:09 AM I thought we had a pretty good show planned out until the promoters figured that people wouldn't pay to see us fight.
Lei Tong 03-07-2003, 12:11 AM They could've added me to the bill, and prmoted me as "BJ Penn's overweight, less talented cousin."
HockeyFighter 03-07-2003, 12:12 AM maybe it can be reborn
seldomTap 03-07-2003, 12:13 AM You could have fought his other cousin...the malnourished looking one with the great fight record and split personality disorder
handjobs4dollars 03-07-2003, 12:13 AM I would have school you all. They could have promoted me as "the overweight engineering student who can only train part time" so watch out.
Lei Tong 03-07-2003, 12:13 AM Yeah, but I got his looks.
seldomTap 03-07-2003, 12:16 AM G-Man, are you experienced in the ways of household MMA? Where a well placed couch can be your best friend as well as your opponents worst enemy.
Lei Tong 03-07-2003, 12:20 AM And here's your trainer:
