on the nov 13th heavywieght card, monte barrett is scheduled to fight undefeated heavywieght prospect owen beck. he is coming of a win against formerly undefeated prospect dominick guinn. his fight with mesi was very close and he had baby joe running for the last half of the fight. erik kirkland and robert wiggins weren't looking to bad before he derailed them. has anyone heard about beck? is he good? does he have a chance?

Beck has some skill and speed but has a suspect chin. But Barrett is no big puncher. I think it's a pick'em fight. Beck is unproven but has more natural talent. Barrett has more experience and has recently come into fights in excellent shape, so he could always spoil the party. Good fight too bad it's not being shown on the PPV (at least I don't think it is)

Barrett should win this one with ease. Beck is an over hyped fraud, and Barrett will expose him.

How about the WBC and the WBA? He is ranked 4th by both of them.

Barrett is a decent fighter, could be a very worthy gatekeeper indeed.

I like Barrett, I think he can beat any of the smaller heavyweights in the division, IE: Ruiz, Byrd, Toney, Maskaev, Tua etc. His problems unfortunately come with the bigger players of the division, IE: Klit bros, Whitaker, Golota, Mccline. Coincidentally two of his three losses have come against Wlad and Whitaker. I also believe the Mesi fight could have gone either way.
