Well yes he is the new prime minister. But still he is the most boring man in existance and gives scots a bad name with his threatening appearance. So he does. Still bush will be scared of him so no more lap dogging.

I think Brown is going to make an obvious move to distance himself from the Blair years - he promises to make government more parliament led, whereas Blair ignored the commons most of the time.

As a leader, he lacks charisma, but he is intelligent and more importantly he is perceived as very intelligent by the electorate. I think we need to remember that when it comes to the ballot box, a lot of the english population prefers to vote for the leader they think is the most competent - Brown has a definite advantage in this area v Cameron.

He's going to need it, because people are genuinely sick of the labour government, and super-Blair can't rescue them anymore.

Gordon Brown promises to "protect the british way of life" which is a good thing i suppose. I really do think he's gonna be better than Blair.

Yeah i liked it when he said that. Gordons had a baptism of fire though, 2 terrorist attacks in his first week? I bet Tony's laughing his ****ing head off as he walked out of the door! "deal with that Gord!" lol

Agreed, yes we voted in labour but I'm not sure I would have voted for Brown.

I hope I am proven wrong as he is as some have said an extremely intelligent man, no glitz just talent and fortitude so....

I'm inclined to agree on this point, although I would point out that there is nothing seriously untoward in what has happened apart from Blair's commitment to serve a full term, which no one believed anyway.

A year ago, I nearly put 100 quid on labour losing the next election, but now I'm not too sure. Cameron is struggling to get past the fact that he is slimy and too close to the bad facets of Blair, and Brown has been helped IMO by the terrorist incidents - they strengthen labour's position on terror laws/ID cards with core voters and traditionally high turnout generally helps labour I think, so heightened political awareness should help.

EDIT: I'm wrong about that last point, historically speaking, so scrub that,
