View Full Version : Penn vs Pulver or Kimbo vs Mercer
2swell k-wells 06-21-2007, 07:27 PM I see they are on the same date this saturday, Which one ya'll gon check out.
Are they at different times? or around the same time? The only fight I want to see is Kimbo vs Mercer, the rest I dont care for. Im looking to take a look at the new talent at UFN and Pulver vs Penn. Pulling for Penn, I want to see him and Sherk go at it. What are ya guys plan on seeing?
I like to see Kimbo fight, I want to see if he can go toe to toe with someone who knows his shit but UFN a bit more.
Darkstar 06-21-2007, 08:13 PM Kimbo will win, Do u know how old Mercer is? Even in his prime he wasnt that great.
Anyway i became a huge UF5 fan this year. Never really got into till this year. I want Pulver to win but i think Penn is to big and strong. At the end, win the fight by tapout or TKO. Plus these fights are free. no way would i pay money to see 2 40+ guys fight their frist MMA bout.
Liaison 06-21-2007, 08:49 PM Kimbo/Mercer.
Penn/Pulvar is just an opportunity for Penn to put things right and get a win against a guy he should have beat 6 years ago. The last Pulvar fight backed up what we already knew, he’s done, Penn on the other hand “beat” GSP and should have beat Hughes to last time out, he's in the zone.
Kimbo/Mercer is intriguing as ****, internet phenomenon who has a victory over the legendry Afropuff against former boxing champ who gave both Lewis (arguably winning) and Holyfield tough fights.
PHX_NINJA 06-21-2007, 09:07 PM Gotta go with the freak show. I have a feeling Kimbo is gonna embarrass Mercer. Mercer is just to old and slow. If he does lose its another black eye for boxing. A seasoned pro boxer couldnt beat a street fighter????
They should have found a real live wire for Kimbo, but who?
Who else would take a fight like this? Randy Colture? Tyson?
Also, if he wins, whats next for Kimbo? He has already said he will
keep on street fighting, but what else?
Royal Burnell 06-21-2007, 09:10 PM In MMA, Penn/Pulver. I've seen nothing about coverage for Kimbo/Mercer, so TUF5 by default.
Overall, I'd say....Hatton/Castillo. I predict sports media dropping the ball again with UFC. And use tomorrow to promote the shit out of baseball or K/M. So, no shoutouts or anything is gonna hurt TUF5 in the end.
living_legend 06-21-2007, 09:45 PM i got pulver........UF 10 for sure........
IncuFan 06-22-2007, 12:14 AM The Kimbo fight is intriguing, but Im not going to pay to see that. I can watch it later on youtube or some other download. I would much rather watch the TUF5 final and the Penn/Pulver fight. The thing is though the Castillo/Hatton fight is on so I'll definitely be watching that. I hope the MMA fights come on before the boxing match so I can see those as well.
Palma 06-22-2007, 01:28 AM The free one
2swell k-wells 06-22-2007, 06:45 AM I get to watch both of them for free, I happen to have a friend that has Bell Express and he gets all the ppvs for free.

ESPN promoted UFC 72...they will continue to promote UFC, especially for 73 since it's STACKED baby!!
Kimbo's fight starts at 10pm...I wish I had my comp. in my room so i can watch both at once...but i dont so I will watch TUF5 finale, and whe nHatton and Castillo fight I will flip.
Organik 06-22-2007, 02:53 PM I'm gonna be out of town watching my buddy fight, but there is a lot of good action this weekend. The Shamrock-Baroni card should be decent as well, though i doubt its worth paying for.

Kimbo is 31 :puppy_dog
Ray Mercer was a great figher, and I will love to see YOU in the cage with him for being so disrespectful! :owned:

U have no idea what your talking about. Hes 40, he was in the pen at 31. I seen it in a a interveiw came straight from his mouth. Mercer was okay at best. (and that was in his prime) If your so sure lets put something on it. Around 10K ?
phallusy 06-23-2007, 03:10 AM i'll be watching penn - pulver, even though i shouldn't. lil evil is one of my favorite fighters, this time he's gonna lose, though, and i'll be pissed... **** it, i might just watch haten - castillo instead so i don't have to see jens get knocked the **** out by Blow Job Penn

Oh, Tyson, without a doubt. Kimbo'd be instantly murdered and I think it'd be a pretty big money fight for Mike.
2swell k-wells 06-23-2007, 07:08 PM money is what tyson needs right now too. Why dont he get into MMA? it would be pretty cool to see him in there, plus he would draw a huge crowd and make more money that he is right now doing circus shows.
Lethal 06-23-2007, 07:09 PM Tyson doesn't need to go to MMA. It'll give MMA a bad name.
Royal Burnell 06-23-2007, 10:49 PM ESPN promoted UFC 72...they will continue to promote UFC, especially for 73 since it's STACKED baby!!
I'm sorry, but I saw not one peep of 72 on ESPN. Nore of this Finale. Both cards are headlined by Contender matches. There's not been one peep of either on any major Sports outlet.
XionComrade 06-24-2007, 12:02 AM Who won the Kimbo fight? Yes Kimbo would die if he stepped into the ring with Tyson...

Did I call it or what........ Kimbo rear naked choke, tap out.
Palma 06-24-2007, 04:07 PM I really enjoyed the main event (Pulver/Penn) especially after seeing the two weird bouts Maynard fight and Diaz fight. Two guys loose to the mat and the other blows his shoulder. man, what a starnge turn of events. I really started to worry after seeing that. I thought to myself man, what is next, BJ PENN is going to slip and knock himself out while walking to the octagon!!??
But he managed to get inside the octagon safely and proceeded to clinic Pulver in the fine art of "WHOOP ASS"!
Lethal 06-24-2007, 04:13 PM Did I call it or what........ Kimbo rear naked choke, tap out.
It was a guillotine.
