is this guy REALLY signed to Def Jam?

I think he looks like Flava Flav minus the personality, his lyrics are nothing but cliches - basically nothing to distinguish himself from anyone. Kind of a paint-by-numbers gangsta rapper.

I heard alot about him a couple of months ago but I never really thought much about him.
