I never took them seriously before Mir vs Tank. The only other time I remember seeing one work was Sak vs. Shannon Ritch. What do you guys think of them?

It seems like they would be easy to power out of.

toe holds are excellent, I've caught Seldom a few times with them, as well as a bunch of other people.

Many Sport BJJ tournaments in Texas ban toe holds and many ankle locks. From what some of my buddies whom have been to Brazil tell me toe holds and most ankle locks are forbidden unless your a brown belt or higher. But they could be full of ****, and I dont know cause I've never been to Brazil.

yep, very true. Leg locks din't exist until shammy showed it's effectiveness in ufc I believe.

I think Sombo used leglocks before Shammy was around.

I love toe hods, ankle locks and knee bars. I use them all the time. Most people dont know how to defend against them very wel because they havent seen them. They are very effective.

I remember I tapped my first HIGH level blue with a kneebar and used them heavily ever since for the reasons you just gave

I love leg locks. alot of people don't knwo them.

Brazil does in fact frown on them you cannot do them till brown belt.

I think its for safety since they made BJJ a sport you know.
