View Full Version : UFC 41 broadcast-What did you think?
Curly Howard 03-01-2003, 11:27 AM I thought Ken was great. Much better then screaming Joe Rogan.
They should always have a fighter do the color. More insight on what's going on.
The blonde, while she looked good was terrible. She acted like it was the first MMA fight she had ever saw. Other then her boobies I didn't see much use for her.
No Serra vs Thomas ????
3 fights ended in the First round and they didn't have time?
That was one fight I was really wanting to see. I always liked Serra and was really curious how he looked. Din Thomas is a good fighter too.
They need to figure out a way to get close up shots on the ground with out BJM butt getting in the way.Give John a head cam or something :) j/k
I did like the pace. Enough time between fights to go to the kitchen but fast enough between rounds to keep your friends from getting on your nerves.
Over all a good show.
Prince 03-01-2003, 12:07 PM the chick added no value to the show, bring back jeff osbourne
the production was ****ty.
bad decisions
the only 2 good things:
-tank got beat
-no joe rogan
I think the UFC is making some stupid moves right now. They finally got things going in the right direction, and they resign Tank, and get some big boobed blond on the telecast. There is not a sport in the world that didn't need time to grow. ****, the NBA and the NFL both took multiple decades before they really caught on with the viewing public. If I had anything to do with MMA, I would want to be as far removed from prowrestling as humanly possible, and I don't think they are. Promotions are going after prowrestling fans, when they should be going after amateur wrestling, boxing fans, and martial arts fans. Not every show is gonna bring down the house, but when you wait 3 months between events you do expect a little better than last night, it was kind of a let down after UFC40.
VulgarTheClown 03-01-2003, 12:39 PM I just wish i had seen it.
I really wanted to see my homeboy Din, and i wanted to see Ricco.
Tank i knew was gonna get beat but i wish i saw him tapping.
You ever think he will return?

I agree 100%

I really wanted Ricco to win. Tank lost, Ricco lost. I think Tank is on a contract, so we'll probably see those two fight. Maybe Ken Shamrock vs. Tank too.
Prince 03-01-2003, 01:56 PM What was the deal with the production?
The sound went out twice on me, did it do anyone else?
Also, the clock at the bottom of the screen never matched time. It would say like 6 seconds left and the horn would blow to end the round.
handjobs4dollars 03-01-2003, 02:56 PM Who was that chick. I didn't like her at all. She didn't add anything that a extra camera shot of the ring girls couln't do.

I think it is because the judges ****ed up and named Serra as the winner and ZUFFA was just trying to save face for their mistake.
I also agree about the blonde, Lisa? She added NOTHING of value to the interviews aside from being eye-candy....She asked the same questions to everyone and used dull terminology. It was like someone gave her a 24 hour MMA lesson and she used what little she was able to absorb in that time.
Ken did great, aside from mispronouncing the fighters names over and over.
purerockfury 03-01-2003, 04:14 PM the best thing about 41 was someone shutting ricco the hell up and no one thought sylvia was going to do it but i knew he was going to pound on riccos head miletich is the best team in mma and bout time everyone knows it mad about the rizzo fight but pedro was not his old self hope he goes to pride and does some good fights over there peace out
handjobs4dollars 03-01-2003, 04:41 PM Ken was good, and I guess he's still fighting. The missprouncing the names was funny. I feel sorry for the guy that watched a ufc for the first time and is going to talk to somebody about it saying lawline and not Linland.
ronnie dobbs 03-01-2003, 06:06 PM i thought it was awesome but i was bummed to see rizzo lose again. ricco got his world rocked by one of them miletich boys. all we need now is for horn to come take tito belts and have pulver put some assings uno and penn. and it could be a miletich ****ing world. i wish tank could have hit mir atleast a few times. and what the **** is his deal he beats some washed up fools and starts acting like he's the ****in man. pete williams is a bum and tank is a drunk. ken did a good job and but that chick they got is not that hot. when she was interviewing chuck it looked like she had zits on her face. over all i would say it was a good show and worth the 30 bucks
submission_guy 03-02-2003, 02:28 AM even the worst UFC is still worth a measly $30, but all in all this one was ok
Money 03-03-2003, 12:08 PM This was the best UFC ever or since UFC 6.
Knockouts, Upsets, Showmanship, Hot Lisa Dergan (anyone who doesn't know her has to be fans of N'Sync if you get my drift), action packed from start to finish.
The UFC is only going to survive with showmanship not with just fights. Once pro wrestling fans get a whiff of this real action some of them like me will be healed hooked for life!
Fallout 03-03-2003, 07:41 PM Its not that this UFC was bad, we have just been spoiled with 4 great shows in a row.
