View Full Version : Ortiz gets trashed so much, and it pisses me off
Fallout 02-27-2003, 09:06 PM There is no one better in the clinch at LHW. Silva, Liddel...NONE of them would stand a chance against Ortiz in the clinch. Tito is so strong, they would get pushed around like childern.
There is no way in Liddel or Silva would fight Tito from thier backs. Tito Ortiz is the best on the ground in the LHW divison. None of the top LHWs in the world are known for thier ability to fight from the guard so its a mute point as to who fights better from thier back. If any of them end up on thier backs, it sure as hell wasn't thier plan.
Where Tito is out-matched is the traditional stand-up game. Liddel and Silva are world class strikers and as everyone knows, the fight starts standing.
However, Tito took Silva down, and if Belfort can take Liddel down so can Tito.
Tito Ortiz is the LHW champ. Once he is injury free, he WILL fight Liddel. He will KILL Liddel.
I'll finish with one point. If you were being asked to fight the biggest fight in your carrer and you weren't 100%, wouldn't you want to wait until you were?
Tanner Rhoden 02-27-2003, 10:07 PM I agree...........He get's nowhere near the respect he deserves. I mean, what if he beats Liddell? What the hell can the criticts say then?
Bluecifer 02-27-2003, 10:23 PM That he beat the number one contender, which he hasn't done yet. Tito has faced no where near the level of competition that Liddel has, I hope Your right when you say that Ortiz will fight Liddel, because I don't think he ever will no matter what.

Tito will eat Liddel for lunch. I promise you that.
Chuck can't hang with TIto on the ground, or on the clinch. Chuck is going to have to stay very far away from Ortiz when they fight. He can't beat him in the clinch, and he isn't gonna beat him on the ground.
Curly Howard 02-27-2003, 10:50 PM You have a good point except "Tito took Silva down, and if Belfort can take Liddel down so can Tito"
Different fighters-different styles. Just because fighter A has beat B and B has beat C doesn't mean A can beat C.
Tito has been champ for a while now and people love to see the underdog beat the champ. I think that's why people are talking trash about him.

But my point is still vaild because if Vitor, who isn't as good of a wrestler as Tito, took Chuck down than you can beat Tito can put him on his back.
I want this fight to happen, just so I can stop seeing all these Tito sucks threads and colums.
Curly Howard 02-27-2003, 11:09 PM Yeah I understand what you are saying I was just making a point.
I would love to get this fight going too but then again what would we have to complain about.
lightweight 02-27-2003, 11:22 PM I've come to respect Tito, he executes his gameplan very well when he's in the ring, but I'm no fan.

Tanner Rhoden 02-28-2003, 02:05 AM No way he'll eat Liddell for lunch.
And yes, I agree with Blue about eveything he said except for the part about him not fighting Liddell. This fight will happen,
Squezze 02-28-2003, 12:12 PM No way in hell will Ortiz KILL Liddell. Not happening. If Ortiz beats Liddell, which I doubt, it'll probably be a ground and pound type win drawn out over a few rounds. If anyone has a chance to KILL the other guy, it'll be Liddell. The man has sick knock out power. Hands like lead weights.
And I don't really get the arguement about the clinch. The majority of the fight probably won't be in the clinch anyways, so I think it's probably a moot point.
Bluecifer 02-28-2003, 12:25 PM I JUST WANT TO SEE THIS FIGHT SOOOOO BAD!
