No1 06-12-2007, 04:13 PM Try doin chin ups as they work all your back and your bicep muscles. SpeedKillz 06-12-2007, 04:30 PM i dont think u wana be doin direct isolation bicep work for boxing, since all the bicep really does is bring the arm back after the punch i would think u wanna be doing explosive pulling exercises for them. K.O 06-12-2007, 04:34 PM "Ali's"......get at me Canzi 06-12-2007, 04:38 PM You don't really want to use heavy weights for boxing. Use lighter weights, but more reps. You can still do curls, just with ligther weights. Kayo 06-12-2007, 06:33 PM isolation exercises are more or less useless for boxing. You'll work your biceps enough if you train your back properly i.e rows, chin ups and pull ups DA1CATAS 06-12-2007, 09:01 PM Nice Information fellas.. I'm sure its helped everyone.. me also. BrooklynBomber 06-12-2007, 09:10 PM Throwing hooks on the bag. That exercise works your biceps in most boxing way possible. Various chin up and pull ups also work them. Swimming too. kryo 06-13-2007, 06:21 AM You don't really want to use heavy weights for boxing. Use lighter weights, but more reps. You can still do curls, just with ligther weights. This is why the training section is ****. Don't listen to this kid, he doesn't know a thing about weights. If you must use weights, use high weight and low reps - I'm talking 2-3 reps. Low weight and high reps works the same **** you work when you hit a heavy bag - it's all just cardio. High weight and low reps tears the muscle quicker, develops explosive power, and doesn't make you gain weight. Trick 06-13-2007, 05:30 PM Like everyone else has said, isolation exercises for you biceps in boxing. In fact, they don't even play a key role in bringing the arm back from a punch, the brachialis does. But girls can't see you brachialis, so no one gives a ****... High weight and low reps tears the muscle quicker, develops explosive power, and doesn't make you gain weight. high weight and low reps does not develop explosive power, it develops maximal strength. plyometric and ballistic(explosive) training develops explosive power. low weight and high reps and high weight and low reps are both useful for boxers i think. everyones body is different u cant say do this and dont do that, it doesnt work that way. it all depends on the ratio of muscle fibers among other things, so i guess that ur both right... |
