Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will make his first title defense against PRIDE FC middleweight and welterweight champion Dan Henderson at UFC 75 in London, England, on September 8.

Rampage confirmed the date on CBS 2 in Los Angeles, California, just yesterday.

Here’s a snip (via MMAWeekly.com):

“I have to fight September 8th in London with the champion of Japan [Henderson]. He has the belt that I was trying to go for that I never got.”

Early reports indicated that only Rampage’s title would be on the line because the fight is inside the Octagon. However, this statement — and others from UFC President Dana White — makes it seem like it will be a bout that unifies the 205-pound belts.

Henderson was a guest on Frank Trigg’s Tagg Radio just yesterday and mentioned that he would prefer to fight in Las Vegas, Nevada, in front of his family and friends. It looks like that isn’t going to happen.

UFC 75 will be the promotion’s third event of the year in Europe, following UFC 70 in Manchester, England, and UFC 72 in Belfast, Ireland. For the developing (and rumored) UFC 75 fight card click here.

I’m still not to sure about Hendo, he sucked prior to the Silva fight (think Kondo, Misaki, Bustamante fights), maybe it was because of the weight but I never got the feeling he was drained or something. I do think 100% Dan has Rampage’s number but again I haven’t a clue whether he’s “100%” now.

yeah i agree, especially with the bold. I think they're pretty even, Hendo is no doubt the better wrestler but Jackson seems like a stronger and more physical guy. I havent watched Jackson much, but he seems like maybe the better striker (?) based on the Liddell fights. I'm behind Henderson, but I think this'll be a very tough test for him. Another thing that'll help henderson is the fact that his training partner Matt Linland recently lost a split decision to Jackson, you know they'll have a good strategy.

i think rampage will win this one, like he said in his interviews he's trainin hard now. an besides the pride belt is the one he originally wanted, so im quite sure he'll b focused for this fight against henderson.

I have never seen Henderson and have only really seen highlight reels of Rampage but I expect they will go to war, regardless of their so called friendship.

Having 3 UFC events in the UK in a year is a real good look for us. I am a new fan of UFC and I actually watch more of it than I do boxing, the character profiles make most fights more exciting, plus a packed bill, huge variation from fight to fight and decent matchups all help too.
