WILL PARIS HILTON BE SENT BACK TO JAIL?
The Charles Jay Line
YES -160
NO +150
Things have been so fast and furious in the Paris Hilton case that it's been excruciatingly difficult to keep up with them. Paris entered L.A. County Jail this past Sunday night and after the body cavity search (which some joked was old hat for her), things went downhill in a hurry. Reports are that she sounded off medical alerts on several occasions, and audible wimpering was heard from her private jail cell. The party girl, who had said she was not looking for any "special treatment," was soon petitioning for release from jail and house arrest, citing a medical condition that was not disclosed. The L.A. County Sheriff's Department acceded to that request, letting her go on Thursday.
As a result, Hilton would be "reassigned" to her mansion in the Hollywood Hills, where presumably she could recruit enough playmates for the remainder of her sentence who wouldn't particularly mind her new piece of jewelry (i.e., a non-removable monitoring device in the form of an ankle bracelet). But that essentially overrode the L.A. Superior Court judge's order.
In an interesting announcement, a spokesman for the Superior Court basically expressed that it was not their fault, that the sheriff's office had authority over the incarceration. And no, there is no truth to the rumors that the heiress is in negotiations to literally buy the jail from the county. That was borne out by the fact that virtually as soon as Paris got home, the judge announced that he is pulling her back in for a hearing on Friday at 9 AM Pacific time, at which time she may be thrown back into jail.
Ugh.
Think someone's pissed?
Which way is it going to go? Is the judge just trying to save face? Will Paris keep her "Stay out of jail free" card, so she can serve out the rest of the sentence having parties with the rich and famous, or will she be subjected to more grief and hardship, without hair care or beauty products, with nothing to but read (perhaps for the first time) in that ugly, germ-infested jail cell?
